The wind whistled, palm trees swayed, you looked up into the beautiful dark purple sky, a crescent moon illuminating the neighborhood. You took this as a moment to stop, and admire the beauty of the neighborhood that lived in West Palm Beach, Florida. Not too long after though, you began to feel uneasy. A knot formed in the base of your stomach.
Dammit, maybe I should've just stayed. You thought to yourself, feeling the presence of someone following you from afar. You had heard tales of creeps following the young, alone, and unexpecting. You may have been young- 15 at that- and alone, but you weren't unexpecting and unaware. You quickened your pace hoping that whoever was on your tail got the hint that you were very aware. The rows of colorful beach-themed houses shadowed by darkness quickly disappeared as each step made your pace into a full-on sprint. The salty cool wind blowing against your hair, face, and clothing. Ahead lied a set of stairs, lights flickering allowing you to see just how far up it went. You looked back. A menacing figure stood, tall and broad, submerged in the night's cloak.
"Come out, I know you've been following me." You fully turned to face the direction of the figure, making sure your voice was loud and clear. Not a hint of fear rung in your tone. The person let out a small chuckle.
"Y/n, do you believe in gravity?" A low, almost cello-like voice came from the person who stood only a few feet away. Their question seemed to have a glint of pureness, almost as if their intent was to just get your honest answer. You let out a hefty sigh.
What the hell? A stranger who's been following me for the past 5 minutes just came to ask me that? You guessed there was no harm in answering their question, as you've been asked this before. Your answer was blunt and honest.
"I do believe in gravity. It's the force that allows us to stay rotating around the Sun, the force that allows us to stay on Earth,"-you paused, hands crossed over your chest-" Without gravity, there would be no such thing as fate or life on Earth." You'd been taught the concept of gravity your whole life, it was ingrained in your brain like a tattoo. You had no problem with answering this stranger's question on gravity.
The figure now stepped into the light, his blonde hair fell neatly over his broad shoulders, his cat-like eyes gazed upon you, mouth quirked up in a wicked smile. You took a step back, looking onto the rest of his appearance. He was incredibly tall, wearing a tight-fitting sleek black sleeveless top with loose mustard yellow cargo pants. He had the same mustard-colored gloves worn on both hands, a green jewel embroidered onto the outward side of each glove. Your eyebrows lifted.
"Who are you?! And how did you know my name?" Your arms rested at your sides, but your hands were balled into fists. Your tone yet again was loud, getting your point across that you were confused and expected an answer. It was already weird enough, considering that he was able to keep up with your speed and match it. And why he'd come all this way to ask such a question. His lips turned up into a grin.
"I, Dio Brando, believe that my fate led me to you, Y/n L/n." His statement was simple, he raised his right hand over his chest, speaking like a government official making an important announcement. He strutted over to where you stood, in utter shock, and bent down lips hovering over your right ear.
"Join me, on my quest to attain Heaven."
Your pulse began to race, feeling his cold grip on your right shoulder. You glanced at the strange golden arrow that rested in his left hand. You blinked. One second, or it seemed, was all it took. A jabbing pain arrived in your throat, lungs screaming for air. You gasped. Your vision faded, as your last moments of consciousness were spent with watery eyes, outlining Dio Brando's mischievous face, and the gurgling of your own blood.
