ESME

After I finally have my breakfast, I get up to explore the house. Matteo should be the one to do that but seeing as he didn't have the courtesy to show me around, I have taken the liberty to do so.

I wander around the penthouse checking the guest bedrooms and the balcony. I must say the house is impressive. Even better than my parents' house. I sat on the swing chair and looked around.

This is a sweet hangout. The view is perfect. I think this is gonna be my spot in the house. Far away from everyone; especially Matteo. there is a small terrace garden in here as well. It's the perfect spot for me.

I think about what Matteo said to me this morning. I touch my wrist and  I admire the watch he gifted me this morning. I will never admit it to him but it's beautiful. I actually really like it. this is exactly something I would buy for myself.

It's so weird how Matteo knows so much about me. my likes my dislikes. I wonder who helped him pick out this gift for me. I sigh as I look back to the people who were in my life before I ran away.

My family, my friends everyone deserted me in a flick of the wrist. I knew my world was fake. I knew my relationships, my friendships everything was materialistic and based on standard and image. But it still hit me hard.

I don't have any more friends. Heck, I don't have anybody else. Except for my 'husband'. I am just so alone right now. I miss my friends; I miss my simple life back at Misty Bay.

Everything was just so easy back then. I was just a girl, a nobody. I had friends and I had a life that was exactly what I wanted. And now I am stuck in this glass tower.

Back into the cage, I ran away from. I wish things could have stayed the way they were back when I was on the run. But there is no point in living in the past. I am married and stuck here with a man I despise forever.

I get up and go back inside the house. I passed the kitchen and I spot a lady in her late 40's or early 50's cleaning the countertop. This must be Cassey.

I should probably introduce myself to her. After all, I am gonna be living here. I go up to her and clear my throat.

She looked up from where she was cleaning and smiled at me as she stopped cleaning.

"Oh, I am sorry miss. I didn't see you there." She apologized

"it's alright. You're Cassey right?" I asked her

"yes miss I am Cassey," she asked in return

"I'm Esmerelda Vitiello," I say with a smile introducing myself

"Apologies Mrs. Vitiello. I didn't recognize you. How can I help you?" she asks again

"no worries Cassey, I was wondering if you could show me around the penthouse," I asked her

"of course Mrs. Vitiello. I will be with you in a minute." She replies and proceeds to put away the cleaning supplies and then she leads the way out of the kitchen.
