Rabbit Stew and Bacon (George x Richard)

chapter 5

-A Few Days Before The Dance-

《 George heads home tired and quite stressed. Even though he is the popular boy. Now he had to question his sexuality, who to go with, who to reject, skip or should he just stay home and finish homework. Penny was home early and George figured he could talk it out maybe? Richard was anxious about everything. Zee was a bit upset at Destiny but she couldn't say anything. 》

Zuzy was back at it again. "Papito ghost uwuw." She laughed as the twins walked home together. "Zuzy, what if he rejects me. I'd look like a fool.." Zee's tears streamed down her face. The reason she was crying was because she thought of the worst. "Why are you crying??" "WHAT IF HE TELLS EVERYONE.. WHAT IF IT TURNS INTO ME LIKING A GIRL? MY REPUTATION COULD BE AT RISK.. REMEMBER CLEMENTINE AFTER SHE CONFESSED.." Zuzy went silent. It was awkward for a few minutes. Zee started storming ahead. Zuzy blurted out something, "It was because the guy she had a crush on spread it as a rumor. Making it worse, not a crush but beating him up in order for her to go." Zee's eyes widened, that made her more terrified. "What if George-" Zuzy cut her sister off and put her palm on Zee's shoulder. "Don't overthink it, if he did that his reputation would be gone too. Plus if he does that, then he's a jerk! We don't need to talk to him. Plus I'll make sure nothing goes wrong." Zee smiled and hugged Zuzy. "It's okayy, let's just get home quickly."

George arrived home and headed straight for the floor. Dropped down and sobbed. He got up and put his stuff way. Cleaned up and got dressed. He poked his head into Penny's room. "Can I talk?" Penny smiled and gestured him to enter and close the door. "Anyway Sheepy, I'll call you laterz." She ended the call. "So what's the issue?? Homework or.." George faceplanted into the floor. "It's worseee, many people asked me out this week and two of them were my friends. Zee and Richard." Penny held her laugh in, for some reason she wanted to laugh at it. "Middle school drama ahahaha." "PENNY HELP.." "Okay okay serious now"
"Well do you like any of them?"
"No"
"Prefer boys or girls?"
"I don't know.."
"Hmm, maybe you could go with Richard. You always go with girls and they dump you. Maybe change it, plus Richard knows you like nobody. He is a sweetheart anyway."
"I guess but Zee.."
"If things fail with Richard then try Zee. After that you need to stop. I know you being popular and you having troubles saying no makes it worse. It takes time. Anyway, think it through. Do you have any work?" George nodded and asked to help with one of them.

Richard got home and sighed in relief. He decided to try and clean the house. His mother entered and started in a disgusted way. "You're cleaning? Well start making dinner and taking care of your siblings. Maybe then I'd love you and treasure you like a trophy like your sister." She spun the keys around and pushed the rabbit twins inside. She slammed the door and went to her car. "Well.. what do you want to do?" Robbie frowned, "I got in trouble and can't tell mommy." Rosie yawned and went to her bed. Richard took the twins upstairs. He helped them get ready and then talked with Robbie.

Next Day
George went to a cafe with Richard and talked it through. "Richard I- well I wanted to go with you?" George smiled nervously. "I mean I guess I wouldn't mind I- I well yes." Richard flustered a bit but pushed it back. George hugged Richard. He hugged the bacon back.
Later George after school George met with Richard. Richard felt different, in a good way. He was happy and excited. They walked home and George told Penny what happened. Richard asked Bunny if he could go to the dance. Richard's mom almost said no but she thought having Richard out the house would be nice.
Unfortunately Zuzy got into another fight. Zizzy scolded Zuzy, when they got home Zuzy locked herself into the bathroom, later cried herself to sleep when everyone had dinner. Zee felt pity for her sister. The next day, Zuzy would lose all her bright sunshine. The 'papito chocolata ghost despacito' jokes disappear. Zee sighed, shrugged it off and went to sleep. She couldn't sleep though. She watched her sister to make sure she wouldn't go over the railing again. Eventually she fell asleep.

The next day was the dance. Everyone was excited and George, Richard and Zuzy talked. Zee joined to chat a bit and later went to hang out with Faith and Destiny. After school George George texted Zee and told her, he wouldn't go with her. She just replied with 'No worries!' She just sighed. She knew it was okay. You don't always get picked. Plus maybe she will have another chance with someone else. Zee went to the bathroom and took another shower. Washed her face and had a relaxing day. Zuzy was a bit confused but she was too busy working on a wattpad. Everyone didn't have much homework since tonight was the dance. Zee would still go as long as her sister came.

Tonight would be the day Zee would feel the most envy. Zee didn't know Zuzy wouldn't be going. It would just be Destiny, Faith, George, Richard, most of the school and Zee alone.
