I get my folders out of my locker, and I hear the locker next to me open. Lesley. I close my locker, and lean against it.
"Hi Lesley," I say. She turns her head away from me, and I stand up straight.
"I can't go to your house anymore,"she says. I swear, I can feel my heart break in my chest.
"Why not?" I urgently ask. She turns to me, her whole left cheek bruised. Her dad, I think.
"This is why. My dad thinks that I'm a whore. I can't put up with it anymore. He said that he's gonna kick me out the next time that he hears that that I'm at your house." She starts to cry, and I pull her to mt chest, and I wrap my arms around her. She cries into my chest, and I feel guilty. It's all because of me.
"Well... Why don't you stay with me?" I ask. She looks up at me.
"What?"
"Co me over to my house tonight. Let your dad kick you out. You can stay with me." She smiles a little.
"Why didn't I think to try to ask you that? Thank you so much." I smile, and wipe her unbruised cheek.
"Anything for you, Les."
Lesley's P.O.V.
8:25 P.M.
I want to kiss him, or for him to kiss me. Something to help me get through my last hour of pain.
We sit in the huge recliner in his living room. He has an arm around my waist, and I sit close to him, my head and hand on his chest. His heart races, like my own.
"Do you think that he'll kick you out tonight?" he asks.
"Most likely. He's not patient with anything. He'll want me out as soon as possible."
"The sooner, the better." We smile at each other. God, I want to kiss him. I want something to happen.

9:35 P.M.
"I'll see you later tonight?" Kiss me already.
"Most likely," I say.
"Okay." His eyes dart from my eyes, to my lips, and to my eyes again. He takes a step forward, and wraps his arms around my waist. His chest is pressed to mine. There's no space between us, and I like that. He leans in a little. Centimeters, millimeters, and our lips connect. I wrap my arms around his neck, and he rest a hand on the back of my head. I wnat this to deepen, but I don't have the time. I pull away, to see a wide smile grow on his face.
"I'll see you in a little bit Les," he mumbles. I smile, and I think I really do like him, and I really do need him.
