« Maneskin, good morning and thank you for having us exclusively in your studio. How are you all? »
« Fine » replied Thomas and Ethan in sync.
« Good, thank you » followed Damiano
« We're great, how are you? » said Victoria softly.
« I'm good, thank you for asking, I must say I'm a little intimating by you guys your aesthetic is on point, I feel like I am underdressed for the occasion » I laughed softly. « Well, guys this is an honour. But for our viewers watching us, do you mind introducing yourself. »
« No, not at all, hello everyone I'm Victoria I play the bass »
« Damiano David, the singer » he lifted his hand to wave quickly looking straight in the camera
« Thomas, guitar player »
« Ethan mhmm... drummer »
« Thank you. You guys just won the Eurovision contest 2021 and you got home less than 24 hours ago, how are you feeling? Is it nice to be back home? »
« Absolutely, we feel great. It was such an honour to go to Rotterdam for the contest and going home with the award feels incredible...like we're so happy. » Victoria replied.
« Italy last won the Eurovision contest in 1990, and the pandemic was pretty rough here do you think bringing back the award, as you said, might help Italy stand on its feet? Maybe help with the economy? »
« Oh... I don't know about the economy but it feels like a relief to be able to take part in the show, let alone come back with the award. I think that night Italians were celebrating because we won that night... because Italy won. I don't think the rest such as the past or future matter. I'd like to think we helped our country by bringing back some festivity, maybe more along the way. » Victoria answered.
« Of course, you brought joy to many, many people and I must add, not just Italians. Your song, very rock'n'roll and I believe that rock and roll lovers are happy to see your song winning, especially by the public's vote. Do you think Eurovision is moving with its new generation and more genre will be able to perform and take part in the contest in the future? »
« We hope so. A song is still part of music so it should have its place in Eurovision. It's not a cheesy pop contest, it's about music from all around Europe so each country should be able to bring their genre and their style with them. » Damiano replied.
« Great and talking about style, you have a very unique style. How do you prepare it? »
« A lot of hours of preparation » Damiano laughed
Victoria laughed slightly « No, it takes time but it's worth it every time. We don't tell each other how to dress, we have an idea and we dress accordingly and if the others like it then we join something together. It's been like 6 or 7 years that we know each other and some of our style and personality rubbed off on each other. We are who we are, true to ourselves. »
« Wow, 6-7 years together, do you ever fight ? »
« The occasional fuck off » Damiano joked
« Yeah, it happens we'd be lying if we said otherwise but fighting allows us to face a problem as a team. Sometimes we might have different opinions and so by fighting a bit and disagreeing we can find common ground that everyone like and it's what keeps the band strong. » Victoria followed.
« Of course, honesty is very important. So, guys, I'm going to need your honesty for the next question. I know you don't want to hear any more of it, but I have to ask I'm afraid. Can I count on you guys? »
