"Carla, James are you two okay?"

John Witacare could tell the two young Enforcers were spooked despite the nods and yes sirs. Them and the two senior enforcers could have easily been killed. Taisiya Salvinsky was capable of killing just like the rest of the council members and the enforcers. If she wanted them dead, they would be. John knew she wouldn't kill children, but keeping the more senior members alive was a surprise.

"Sir, its been a month and we still don't have eyes on Salvinsky. Some on the council have started asking questions."

John shut his eyes and took a deep breath, "Tell them we're trying Taisiya Salvinsky is the most powerful sorceress of her day with many allies."

His assistant looked stressed. She must have been on the phone with council members for a while.

"If they are being to harsh send the call to me."

She nodded as she visibly relaxed, "Thank you sir."

God knows how long it would take them to track down Taisiya. She was resourceful, skilled and one hell of a fighter. As soon as they found her and threw high level enforcers at her, there would be death. John had only met the former council member a handful of times. Each time she radiated power. Unmatched. John knew to never to go after her, but now he had no choice.

"Captain Witacare! Captain!"

"Yes?"

"We found Slavinsky. She's in Milan, Italy."

Dread drowned John's body. With bitterness he said, "Send Mikiumi's force and have Yohan's as back up."

Taisiya felt their magic before she saw them. The Enforcer Captain Witacaer had sent two units. The main unit and the back up. Taisiya began to steel herself. Lives would be lost today. These deaths would be inevitable. She waited for them to get closer before releasing her magic in a fire burst. It coiled, wrapped and engulfed everything and anyone it touched. Screams pierced the air as the stench of burning flesh rose.

A blast of magic cut through the flames that circled Taisiya. It hit her defenses powerful enough to cause her to take a step back. The sorceress followed the blast's magical residue. It brought her to a handful of Enforcers with the most senior in the front. Without hesitation she sent a powerful compressed ball of magic at them. They were tense as she had approached, even more so when she attacked. The senior most enforcer released a defensive magic spell. She was a witch. Her magic wouldn't be powerful enough to protect her. Even if it could, she would till die.

Taisiya blinked. Her compressed ball of magic exploded. When she looked to judge the damage a sharp slice of magic hit her. It had cut her arm. She didn't scream or make a sound. She wouldn't let them know they had caused her pain. Taking that pain, she released the hold on her magic. Instantly it went out of control. The fires sparked back to life. They ran a jumped to any enforcers it sensed. For most there would be no escape. Those who barely made it would be scared for the rest of their lives. Taisiya could barely hear the screams. Her mind and body overwhelmed with power.

When her body began to shake some time later, she took deep breaths. Her magic strained, but slowly clamed. With the adrenaline gone and her magic in control Taisiya could feel the exhaustion in her bones. She could also feel the cuts and wounds from the enforcers powerful enough to evade her attack. Her vision blurred and her body trembled. Taisiya could feel her heart beating in her ears. She locked eyes with enforcer captain John Witacaer. With her last breath she let every ounce of her magic blast out of her. The last thing she saw was a beautiful blue fire made of the Captain's magic fusing with her own.
