The shapeshifter pack

Chapter one: the journey to the leaf.

Kabuto awake to jasmine grooming the youngest of her four cubs. The other three played around. The eldest readied for the leaf village. Kabuto raised off the floor and strided to his new cubs. Oh yeah! He and jasmine are mates! He told them about the leaf village and how he wanted revenge on how he was treated in the root. His mate growled in agreement. They all agreed to wait for the cubs to grow up a little more.

The old alpha female now was second in command. She soon left and traveled with a few who were loyal to her. They stuck with a human form so they could move quicker. They all carried Their belongings in messenger bags and hiking bags. Thier sleeping bags rolled up and tied on top of thier hiking bags. A few of the followers had cubs with them and they moved quitly and swiftly like thier moms.

"okay everyone! Let's camp here for the night." she said as she placed her bags down. They were in a small clearing and a good mile away from a town. Soon they all layed down 'unaware' of two shadows watching them.

Shadow #1 pov

We watched as a girl barked orders to three others. The children did as they were told and set up tents, gathered fire wood, and put the bags up into trees. They even set bobby traps! I looked over to Deidara and saw him staring at the girl who was the same height as him.

After a good five minutes we saw her move to the town. She had a bag of trade items. I saw that she had baskets on her back as well as some rugs. She trudged To the town with some bags on her sides. Deidara went to keep watch over her while I stayed with the group. It was borring just watching the kids play a game. It looked like they were acting like animals. I was shocked when they turned into young tigers or wolves. The adult females just sat in wolf, tiger, and lion form. I sat and watched with interest as one of the cubs running from the others who stalked her.

Deidara pov

I watched as the girl barked orders with great vigor as she gathered some things. I was told by Sasori no danna to keep an eye on her. I gladly did since something about her just caught my eye. I leaped silently from tree to tree. I saw here go into a shop and came out missing some baskets but had several loaves of bread and in the bags she had veggies and fruit. She went to a man selling meat, milk and some other goods. I waited for her to come out. I turned my head to my left and saw two kids rummaging through garbage cans. I remembered my life before I became a ninja and I felt a pang of remorse. I was snapped out of my thoughts as the girl handed them some bread and a block of cheese. I silently cheered her as fed them. They were twins and extremely thin.

My heart clenched in sadness as I saw her turn to leave. My heart flustered when she turned and motioned then to follow her. I smiled with pride as I leaped to Sasori no danna. I almost fell out of the tree when I saw that they were not human at all! The twins gasped at the sight of thier new home but quickly grined as they were pulled into a hug.

The leader of the pack's pov

I ordered my group of three women and nine cubs to set up camp and to stay put while I went into town. We couldn't speak Japanese but they understood hand signals. I had many goods to trade with as well so I gathered them up and walked to town. I could feel two sets of eyes on my pack and I. I knew by the sent that they wouldn't hurt us so I made it looks like I didn't notice. I sent a ultrasonic message to my pack that we had copany but warned against letting the forien sents on to that we could sence them. I smiled slightly as I heard a silent 'yes Sasori no danna hm.'. The thought of Deidara made my heart sing as I walked to the town. I thanked god that some stores were open 24/7. I walked into a shop selling bread, fruit, and veggies. The woman noticed the trade goods and smiled in glee as I pulled out my handmade jewelery and baskets. The rugs were made by my second in command rose. I smiled happily as she put fresh baked loaves and several veggies and fruit into my messenger bag. I bowed my thanks and left.

I felt Deidara's eyes on me as I made my way to a store that had meats, dairy products, and various other goods. I saw a young man of about 22 glaring at a man who stared at me like a pice of meat. I growled in warning and he backed off. I knew the young man from a previous village. He was the one who tought us the hand signals. He set out some chioce cuts and some cured hides. I traded several rings and the rugs for the goods as well as a few jugs of milk and blocks of chesse.

I walked out with a Japanese lesson in my bag and as I did I saw two kids rummaging looking for edible things. I pitied them and I walked up to them. I senced that it was to Deidara's supprise. I grined kindly as I handed them a small loaf of bread and a small block of chesse. I even gave them a small jug of milk each. They ate greedily before I turned to leave. I surprised Deidara further when I motioned for them to follow me.

They did after telling me the reson for being on the streets. They were orphans due to a tornado sweeping through their home village hidden by storms. They were the only servivors and they wondered for days until they found the town. They now have a safe place to love thanks to me.

They followed me to my campsite where I saw my pack in animal form. I bet Deidara almost fell from the trees from his shock. I turned to the twins to gauge their reactions.

"mommy this is your family?" they spoke in unison as I noded. They turned to me with joy on thier faces. I could sence Deidara and Sasori chuckling quietly as they ran up and plays with the other cubs. The other mothers turned back into humans as we told the cubs that it was five minutes before bed time. After the time was called they all went to bed. My new cubs curled up to me after I turned into a dragon. After they were sound asleep I motioned for my pack to capture Deidara and Sasori. They soon did. The two were wrapped in the tails of the pack and placed in front of me. Deidara looked at me in shock before speaking.

"how did you know un?"

"I knew from the beginning. If your trying to sneak up on someone try masking your sent first. Plus I know you wanted to help the cubs in my tail. I could sence a parental instint that threatened to blow your cover so I followed my maternal instincts before your cover was blown." I said to him as he looked down. Sasori face palmed in shame and I petted his head. He jumped at this and looked at me in wide eyes. Wide from shock for my action.

"our leader-sama would be very happy if your pack would join the Akatsuki." Sasori said after a few minutes of shock. I narowed my eyes sadly. They noticed the sadness and shut thier mouths.

"we can't... It's to dangerous since we have five year olds to twelve year olds. Please I hope your boss understands. Our kids come before our fun. We love to mingle with humans but we need to teach our young the rights and wrongs. We need to teach them about not transforming when so close to a human settlement." I said as they nodded in understanding.
