mother's story

He got to the hospital Hello sweetie his mother shouted "I am so happy to see you!" "Love you too mom" Jeremy said." Wheres your father"? She asked. Jeremy answered "oh he went and got something for us to eat you know so you don't have to cook". His mother laughed. Jeremy anxious to talk to her about what he just found handed her the notebook "what's this" she asked Jeremy replied "I hope you could tell me". She looked through it then she said "oh no" "what" Jeremy said. She looked at him "now look Hun I love you I think the world of you all I want is the best for you and that means keeping you safe". Jeremy looked at her " safe from what"? His mother closed her eyes and said "There's a lot you don't know about me". Annoyed Jeremy asked " what are you talking about"? Calmly she started explaining " in the 80's I was involved in some international affairs" "espionage" Jeremy interjected."somewhat " she said " I guess you could call it being a double agent, out of college I became a intern at a embassy in East Berlin not long into that job I was recruited to do some hit or miss spy stuff, the Soviets at the time were working on some mind control brainwashing sort of stuff". She hesitated but went on ,"When the commies found out what I was up to they ordered a hit on me and I had to get out of there as soon as I could." Jeremy waited "And?" She went on "I managed to escape from them but coming back home I had to start a whole new life I met your father my name was changed and I thought that after the wall fell I was safe but..." But what Jeremy said "looks like the old ghosts from the past are following me" she said. "What can we do then"? Jeremy asked "Mommy always has a plan dear "she said "but first I want to get out of this place".
