Your mom was a dark skinned lady, like more of a dark chocolate type,Brown eyes, long hair which you inherited. She met your dad at a pizza shop in Brooklyn. Your dad was a little bit lighter than your mom, more like a milk chocolate type.
You lived with your mom and your 4 other siblings. It was a tight living space but you always promised your mom that once you get a job you'd save up and move them out to another spot. Your dad wasn't really in the picture, but when he was he would just leave again.
You and your family have been living in South Jamaica ever since you were born. You loved New York, you loved everything about it, it was just you wanted to move to another area.
"Yo watch where ya goin" you say as the old man who bumped into you kept walking totally ignoring what you said. "Hey Tj" you say walking pass the pizza shop on the corner. You've knew Tj since you were little. He use to hook you and your siblings up with free pizza when your mom stayed late for work.
"Wassup y/n" Tj yelled out serving a customer. "Where is ya moms Riq, you always out here in these streets" you say to the child you always run into. "Ion know shit, long as I'm in before 7 I'm straight" Riq said running back to play with his friends.
You were currently headed to your best friend Deena's house. You and her had been friends since elementary. Who actually lived a block away from your house.
Tomorrow was the first day of senior year so Deena promised she'd do your curls. Your hair was pretty long, long enough to a lot of different styles.
"Heyyy D." You say greeting Deena's mother as you walked straight in. "Heyyy y/n she's in the back" Deena's mother said walking into the kitchen. Deena's mother names was actually Daejanae, but you were just use to calling her D.

Your mother and Deena's mother actually used to be best friends, so Deena's mom is like another mom to you. "Deenasiaaa, I'm here" you say walking into Deena's room.
"Yo, stop calling me by my government name, there could be a stalker around here and now they know my damn name" Deena said walking out her bathroom. "Yea ok Deenasia" you say dodging her before she could hit you on the head.

"Sit yo ass down" Deena said going back in her bathroom bring back curlers and pins. "What you wearing tomorrow" you ask sitting in her rolling chair. "Shit I'm wearing my new Juicy Couture set I bought yestaday" Deena said having a smile creep onto her face.
"I don't even know what ima wear yet" you said as Deena took off the bonnet you had. "Well you betta figure out, cause first day, first impressions" Deena stated. "I know I know" you say leaning a little back in your chair.
"Wasn't you suppose to get ya nose pierced today?" Deena asked parting your hair. "Yea, but he had to reschedule because he had to get ready for school himself" you say quoting your hands.
"Damn, so when you gon get it done boo?"
"I don't know I think he said later next weekend" you say watching what's on Deena's tv. "Put on My girl" you say pointing to the remote. "Bitch, that's sad ass movie hell no" Deena said disagreeing with your request.
"Cmon sis, I'm the one watching it" you say grabbing her remote having it snatched out your hand. "No y/n no one wanted to see a sad ass movie." Deena said putting on Friday instead.
"Just watch Ice cube how about that" Deena said throwing the remote on the bed continuing on your hair. "I still wanna watch my girl.." you mumble.
"Y/n!" Deena yelled out yanking your head back. "Ouch!" You say pulling your head back up. "Maybe if you'd just watch what's on tv and stop complaining I would've neva yanked ya big ass head" Deena said pulling up a seat behind you.
"Leave me alone..."
"Can ya' read or is your brain like wood?
