Anthony and Chase decided within the first entry of this journal they needed to start with Lydia's mother.

They met at the station the next morning. Chase knew where to go.

"If I remember correctly, Lydia's mom was pronounced dead at home so they wouldn't have messed with Nations Memorial here in Maineville. They probably called the coroner and had them take her to the examiner at the morgue." Chase knew where they were going.

"There was a familiar name mentioned in the book. Nadia? do you know who that is?" Anthony asked.

Chase glanced over at him as he was driving along the highway.

"Yea she's still in hardy. why was she mentioned?"

"Lydia wrote about hurting her. Well, maybe getting away with killing her. is she the girl that works at Riley's?" Anthony asked. "If I'm not mistaken, she was the girl who told me she saw me moving in the other night when I ordered dinner from there."

"yea there's only one Nadia I have ever known in this area. She was in the same graduating class as all of us. you wouldn't believe the shit that girl went through, we don't know how she survived."

Anthony was almost afraid to ask what happened to her but in a sense he wanted to wait and read about it because he already knew it would be in that journal but he asked anyway.

"Nadia was abducted one night coming home from Tate Brooks' house and there was a big search for her. She popped up at her house, I think she was gone for 3 days, cuts all over, hair chopped off, black and blue. she didn't tell anyone anything though." chase told Anthony the story as he knew it. As he witnessed it. " She said she didn't know who took her or why. She didn't tell them what they did to her either. no one could even investigate it they had to just let it go."

Before they could finish the conversation they had gotten to their destination.

The coroner met them at the front lobby of the building and greeted them.

"hey there Lindsay, how you been?" chase greeted her warmly.

"I'm doin find Chase what can I do for you today hun?"

Chase explains that they were attempting to look into the series of cases that occurred in Hardy and Anthony couldn't help but notice the mood change. he could tell what scars this community and the neighboring towns carried from what happened. Ms. Lindsay's face changed from smiling to a frown quickly as if to say without saying that it was all a nightmare'

"right now we need reports on Martha Hail." chase requested. Lindsay asked for a moment to look at the file and came back quickly with a file.

"Well the examiner here at the time didn't record much. Its just documented here that no tests were administered because the family didn't want and autopsy or toxicology testing they just wanted her to be cremated. The coroner picked her up from the site and took her straight here. Is there anything else we need to pull up. I know there were a lot of people affected. myself included."

chase took a glance at her lower half of her body and Anthony couldn't help but ask for further information.

she picked up her pant leg and showed a titanium limb. " I was there the night of prom. I was a junior, I went with a senior-" chase interrupts quickly "-my brother, its ok Lindsay you can say his name."

Anthony couldn't even comment, he just wanted to know all of it. He saw the pain in her face and could only imagine what she went through that night. They both thanked her for her help and took the file anyway.

With Martha being cremated and no tests performed how would they know that what Lydia wrote in that journal was true?

They would have to keep reading the journal and finding what they could in police documents to find the truth about Lydia.
