Their time of happiness only lasted three years. Endless hours talking to each other on the phone, sleepless nights of staying up together, and the endless amount of laughter. It took a couple of months for Oikawa to gather enough courage to approach her, but it only took less than a second for her to smile at him.
Within a couple of days it felt like they have known each other for years. When they first met he was here on a volleyball scholarship, he wanted to be a professional volleyball player, but those days were over. After meeting her he wanted to be a doctor. Many sleepless nights studying his note carefully and struggling to stay awake during the lecture, all for her. She was interested in business. She wanted to be Japan's most successful business woman, but she couldn't. Many people thought they were an unusual pair. Two different personalities. He was impulsive, loud and outrageous. She was collected and calm. She always wanted to be alone and he always wanted to be the centre of attention.
"I want to buy a place for us. Just us two and no one else." Oikawa would often tell her while talking on the phone.
She would always laugh and tell him to keep dreaming. After a year that dream became reality. They bought a small apartment just minutes away from the university. They shared a room. No more late night phone calls. Why call if the real thing was infront of you? The tiny apartment was what she always dreamed of. She always dreamed of settling down and starting a family.
"What do you think?" Oikawa would ask the same question every night. And her answer would always be the same.
"I love it."
