Chapter 18

Eleanor struggles to hold the shield as long as she can. Sweat begins to trail down her face while she concentrates. “I won’t be able to hold for much longer.” She says through clench teeth. The men was continuing to pound on the door while using their gifts.

Tala scowls and then turn towards Colin and her sister. “This is what we we’re trained for! Protect The Four with your life.” Colin and Jean nod their head and Tala looks back at Eleanor and nod her head. Signaling for her to let go.

Eleanor lets go of the magical shield and Tala throws freezing solid ice balls toward Sir but the man swiftly steps out the way.

“Kill them.” He orders heading back to the truck. “And bring me the girls.”

The five soldiers rush into the house. Colin charges ahead and ducks with precise speed before coming back up and kicking the first victim in the face.

Jean disappears from everyone eyes and pulls out her dagger cutting throats, using her invisibility to her advantage.

Tala snarls and her knuckles freeze as she fist fight with the two other soldiers.

Eleanor saves Tala from a deadly blow and uses her wind spell to throw him out of the glass window. Tala smirks and punches the other man on her left. She and Eleanor fight back to back as more men rush through the door.

The Guardian Witch eyes glow gold and she moves her hands in a wave before releasing lightening from her palm. The men falls onto the front porch and Sir sneers from his seat. “The witch is stronger than I expected.” He comments. A teen steps forward but he squeezes his shoulder. “Wait for my command.” Sir orders. The teen boy nod his head and leans back onto the hummer.

Colin grunts as one of the men punches him in the gut. They were becoming accustomed to all of their fighting techniques. He then glances to the right to see one of the men blindly searching for his girlfriend. Jean invisibility was unique but she couldn’t hold it for so long.

Colin jumps midair and round kicks the enemy in the face knocking him out cold. He quickly rushes over to Jean because he knew in a few seconds she would reappear. He gains the man attention and they begin to fist fight. Colin grunts and spits blood out on the floor as he is punch in the face.

The big man chuckles. “Puny boy.” He spats.

Colin scowls about to attack again but the muscular opponent groans before looking down to see red blood staining his shirt. Jean reappears from behind him and Colin smirks and watches the big guy fall to the floor. Colin smiles towards Jean and his girlfriend eyes widen as she screams. “Colin duck!” The boy ducks and twist before tripping the new enemy on the floor.

Eleanor glances around the room and notice they were rapidly becoming exhausted and she didn’t know long she could last. Tala punches another enemy and snarl, “Don’t you dare give up now.” Eleanor exhales and shoots out plasma balls. Tala arches her eyebrow and Eleanor shrug, “Learning new things every day.”

Colin finally defeats the man and glances around for this girlfriend. He watches as Jean reappears and he smiles her way and she smile back. His eyes then widen at the figure behind her. “Jean!” He screams but it was too late and one of the men is stabbing her in the back. Jean falls to the ground her eyes wide and her hand holding her open wound. She coughs up blood and her eyes flutter shut. “No!” Colin screams in distress trying to run to her.

This catches Tala and Eleanor attention and the two couldn’t believe their eyes. The man takes his hand and place it on Jean chest and his hand glows before their eyes as he take away her powers. He then grins towards Colin with an evil smirk and disappears now holding the power of invisibility.
