This is the only horror - fantasy story that I've ever written. I will admit the idea was born while on the opioid, OxyContin. I was taking the drug at the time while recovering from surgery for a fractured collorbone.
I do not advocate using drugs or alcohol for writing inspiration and share this to demonstrate where opioids can take the mind. It's not a very pleasant place and you really don't want to go there. I cannot begin to fathom the depths the drug takes the addicted user.
