Author Thought:
Just want to forewarn you, this chapter is really long and will be the formula I use going forward in the rest of the volume. I thought about going back and chopping them down into small chapters, but I just felt comfortable writing and then rewriting till I felt I got across all the points I wanted in the chapter. So if you need to take a break, please do.
Now were into the meat of the story, with Miho having by weird twist of fate become friends with tankery members. How will this affect her time at Chi-Ha-Tan academy? Will find out soon.
Thank you for taking some time out of your day to give this a read. It means a lot, so please enjoy and I will see you in the next Author Thought.

A week had passed since Miho's first day at Chi-Ha-Tan Academy and things had been going extremely well so far. Classes had been fun, she had made friends on the first day even if they were part of the tankery club, and after school, she went with them to enjoy sweets from cake shops or have dinners at some local diners aboard the Akagi.
She had been worried that Nishi and the other girls would mostly talk about tanks when they had hangouts. That was far from the case, as they always had other normal talks about hobbies, dreams, and other things. Which was welcome by Miho, as she was glad she didn't get forced into talking about tankery with her new friends, who respected her want to not be involved with the sport, while also not grilling her on the reason why as well.
Miho's new friends were an interesting bunch as well, different from the mostly discipline students of her old school, they were more carefree and fun to be around. Tamada seemed to like to tease Miho at every moment possible, Hosomi always joining in, Ikeda always recommending the best sweets, and Nishi trying to keep her subordinates under control. These four girls had made Miho in a short time feel welcome, always by her side and joking with her, which made her for once in her life feel like she belong to something.
Nishi had also been helping her choose a mandatory elective, since she knew pretty much everyone around the school, she introduce Miho to many club captains. Yesterday it had been the archery club, which Miho was a bit unsure of at first, but after taking a couple of practice shots and hitting dead center every time, the club captain had been ecstatic to get her to join. Miho politely told her that she give it some thought.
Today she was attempting a trial run with the Chi-Ha-Tan equestrian club. Miho had always wanted to ride a horse since it was somewhat like driving in a tank, though part of her didn't know if that was a good comparison to go off.
She was currently mounted on a horse, wearing a riding helmet along with a light brown long sleeve shirt, red breeches, and long black riding boots. It was the uniform of the equestrian club that she had been allowed to borrow for her test run today.
An equestrian club member was leading her horse by the bridle, taking slow steps to help Miho get used to riding. Though so far it had seemed pretty natural to ride for her, even getting some approving comments from the club captain Juri Nagai that she seem to have a knack for riding.
"Whoo Nishizumi! You look like a real cavalier!" Tamada yelled from her spot behind the wooden fence of the riding pen.
Miho turn her head toward her friend's direction who along with Ikeda, Nishi, and Hosomi were all leaning on the wooden fence watching her ride. Even though their tankery practices were coming up soon and their time together would reduce a bit. They were trying to spend as much time with Miho as they could, even coming to see her simply a trial run some of the other school clubs, even though they weren't going to be doing the same club together, yet this simple act of support only enhance Miho's gratefulness to these great friends.
