Brandon's POV:
I hear an annoying buzzing sound in my dream, where was it coming from? I also hear yelling as I suddenly jump out of my sleep with my dad yelling at me to turn my alarm off. He opened the blinds quickly, blinding me with the unpleasant presence of the sun. With an angry attitude, "What time is it?"
"It's time to get your ass ready for school, don't miss the bus." I hear my dad say with an annoyed tone.
Ugh don't remind me. I slump out of bed onto my carpet and start walking over to my closet. I honestly don't care what I wear so I just picked out a random outfit and set it on my bed to be put on after my shower. Ready for school, I go downstairs to eat breakfast while my stepmom makes my lunch.
I wish Warrie could take me to school everyday and I could ride with him. But that would be asking too much of him, considering he lives 20 minutes out of the way. I start feeling anxious while I eat my cereal because of the fear of not having anyone to talk to in my classes.
After I finish my breakfast I grab my lunch and start to head out the door when my dad suddenly offers to take me to school. He had a nice car and I wasn't complaining, I would rather ride with him than on the bus any day.
The car ride didn't have much conversation but that didn't bother me much because of how nervous I was. I hope I didn't make it obvious.
"You okay son?" I hear my dad ask out of the blue.
"Umm..yea. I'm just a little nervous I guess."
"Nervous, why?"
"I don't have any classes with Warrie." I reply.
"Don't worry, you'll make friends. Not everyone's your enemy."
I nodded as we slowly pulled up to the drop off. I started to get out of the car when I hear my dad say "Good luck!". I nodded as I got out of the car and slammed the door shut behind me.
Before homeroom, when everyone roamed the hallways talking to all of their friends, I went to my friends down in the art hallway. There, I saw Warrie standing there laughing with his beautiful smile, along with my other friends, Shannon, Laura, and Drew.
I walk up to them saying hey as they were talking about what they did over the summer when they looked at me and I was greeted. We started talking about random stuff when I suddenly noticed a new face.
A tall guy with curly, medium brown hair with a headband pushing it back out of his face was towering over everyone but Drew. He was standing there next to Warrie talking to him. I've never seen him before. How come? I guess Warrie noticed I was staring at him when Warrie said, "Oh sorry! Brandon this is Ross. Ross, Brandon." as he waved his hands to both of us.
"Um hi." I say quietly. I could tell that he was talkative and a little weird by his appearance.
"Hey" he replied using his finger to push up his round glasses. They were really weird looking and weren't prescription from what I could tell and they had another set of lenses that could branch out that were for sunglasses.
"Are those prescription, or are you just wearing them to look cool?" I ask curiously.
"What do you think?" he replied sarcastically.
I rolled my eyes in response to his remark, ignoring him as the bell rung to go to homeroom.
Homeroom was very uneventful. All my homeroom teacher did was hand out all of the papers that our parents needed to sign. I sighed as I remembered that each teacher would be doing this throughout the day. Four classes Brandon, you only need to make it through four, I reminded myself.
First period was disappointing. No one I talked to was in there but I kind of expected that.
Second period was even worse. I had my friend, Lexy in there. The problem was our stupid teacher gave us assigned seats and she sat on the other side of the room.
When third period rolled around I felt like that was my only time to actually enjoy myself. I had Government. Most people had the expectation that the class would be really hard and they already hated it. I was really looking forward to it though.
Lunch time came after third period and I was terrified. I was afraid that I would walk in there and I wouldn't have anyone to talk to. I didn't want to sit alone.
When I walked in the cafeteria, I was overjoyed when I saw some of my friends. Shannon and her friend Cheyenne were sitting at the table when Laura and Drew also sat down next to them. When I walked over I greeted them and I could relax because I knew I would have lunch with my friends and I wouldn't be alone.
I was sad to leave lunch because I knew that I would be alone in fourth block. I had a sick feeling resting in my stomach while walking down the hallway.
I reached the classroom and I took a huge breath while walking in. As nervous as I was I took the first seat I saw. Expecting the worst, I briefly glanced around the room to find out who was in my class. I rolled my eyes when I saw the corner full of the popular kids and the trouble makers. I sat closest to the teacher's desk and I felt the slightest bit of comfort by that.
After I set my backpack down I glanced up to see someone tall with curly medium brown hair in front of me. My eyes widened when he turned around and I saw Ross staring at me with a grin.
Should I be relieved, or scared?
