Loxwood Clay Pit site is a principal clay resource for brick making and is well located for supplying several relatively local brickworks. Geologically, this site has been noted by the British Geological Survey (BGS) England and Wales as being underlain by the Weald Clay Formation. Loxwood Clay Pits Ltd. aims to extract approximately 400K tonnes of clay from the site, which will be used in brick making and other construction/industrial applications. The company also focuses on the development of a construction materials recycling facility(CMRF) to provide local recycling facilities, waste management and utilization of some of the recycled materials for the restoration of the clay pit.
