THE DROID looked quite pitiful. Locked inside a chamber used for torture it seemed, R2D2 was set up on top of a large table, stuck in a restraining bolt. Once his cavalry arrived, he quietly beeped; gratitude lingering in the faint sounds. Echo immediately went to work on getting the restraining bolt off of the droid, as Tech stood outside the door, to keep watch. "Let's get this done without any clankers finding us." He said, casually looking over his shoulder to his fellow squad members, "That means- be quiet and work quickly, Echo."
Echo rolled his eyes, stifling back a sarcastic chuckle. "Be quiet, Tech. Don't rush me. You could do it yourself if you're so fast."
Tech turned around to say something again, his mind working a mile a minute to come up with some articulate thing to clap back with. The banter between those two clones were always strong, but Alora didn't feel like hearing it that day, and spoke up before Tech could say anything."Stop it, boys. Let's just get this done." She sighed, before slowly sitting down on the table next to R2D2. "Hey, Artoo.. Remember me?"
The droid beeped softly.
Hello, Alora Nero. I've missed you!Alora smiled. "Yep. It's been a while, I've missed you, too." She slowly set her hand on the top of his head, hoping to somehow soothe the frightened droid.
"Did they get any info from you?" Echo inquired, working diligently to set him free from the restraining bolt.
Artoo beeped again, this time seemingly more happily. Nothing! Hello, by the way, Echo.
Echo smiled at the little droid. He, too, remembered General Skywalker's R2 unit. Everybody loved that droid. "It's nice to see you, little buddy."
"I hate to break up the reunion you are having, Echo, but could you hurry it up? Droids are approaching." Tech said, looking at them over his glasses. He didn't seem worried at all, just wanting to boss Echo around somehow.
"What? How close are they?" Alora stood up, placing her hand on the lightsaber attached to her left hip. Her own was on the left, and Lo'ree's was on the right. Always.
"Not very close." Tech said, staring at his datapad, to which Alora scoffed. "But they are on their way, nonetheless. You still have time."
Artoo beeped questioningly. Who is that? Why is he so impudent?
"That's Tech. He's...." Alora said, slowly leaning back against the table, crossing her arms over her chest. She was trying to find the correct words to describe her friend.
"Special." Echo smirked, looking up at the droid. Tech turned quickly, his eyes narrowing as he pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose.
"Quit it." Alora warned, her eyes widening slightly at the two clones. It was incredibly annoying to her whenever they would be rude to one another. Sometimes, they acted more childish than, say, Wrecker.
Suddenly, R2D2 sprung free! He hopped off of the table, gliding around happily in circles.
Thank you! Thank you!Echo proudly smiled, watching the droid as he celebrated his liberation. "You're welcome."
"I bet that feels great, Artoo!" Alora exclaimed, leaning down to rub his head.
He beeped happily.
I'm free!"Yes, you are. Now let's get you home!" She said, a smile now prominent on her pale-complexed face.
As the droid glided out the door, the clones and Alora followed suit. "I never knew you could communicate with droids." Echo said, as he was placing his helmet back on.
