Silence...

It had always been quite, sitting on cushions and occupying yourself with small tasks. This included reading books that had been scattered across the floor and painting the walls to your room. The scenery had been nothing more than fluffy pink pillows and a blue pigment scattered everywhere. You didn't know what the outside looked like because you had never been.

What did the outside even look like?

Now that you thought about it, loneliness wouldn't have ever bothered you if you hadn't read chapter after chapter of what being surrounded by others felt like. What did being with others even feel like? Books had described this, explaining the happiness and excitement that came with both friendships and a loving family.

But what did that mean?

Reading was one thing, but feeling the things that had been described in books was another. Questions had continued to play the same tune in your head. Where am I? When am I going to leave this room? What were people like outside? Why do my parents avoid me? Why do they keep me hidden away?

Nothing ever made much sense and none of your questions seemed like they would be answered anytime soon.

All you wanted was to be picked up or for someone to pat your head.

After a while of being stuck in your thoughts a creek at the door pulled you out of it immediately.

As you turned your head vigorously towards the noise, you noticed your mother standing there. You tilted you head as to wonder whether she was just here to bring you your daily meal. Though she just stood there frightened. The look on her face seemed as though she was terrified. As if one false move was the end.

You stared at her confused but excited nonetheless, did your mother finally come to play with you?

She seemed so tense but still you got up to greet her.

"Hello momma, did you come to play with me?"

She stood there without saying a word and after a while made her way over to you. She sat on her knees in front of your small figure.

"Y-yes, I- I'm here to play with you y/n.."

Those had been the words you had waited for her to say to you for years. You quickly jumped up waddling closer to your mother.

She tensed up further as you made your way over to her. When you were arm length apart you stopped in your tracks and sat in a way that mimicked her.

"Pat my head momma."

Your mother looked at you with hesitation and slowly lifted her hand to meet your soft h/c hair. She ruffled your hair and you smiled at the touch. Within seconds you looked back up at her satisfied.

"Momma lift me up high."

You mother slowly stood up and reached towards you. Within seconds you were high in the air laughing and smiling. Though your mother still had a frown edged into the corners of her lips.

Afterwards she put you down. You looked up at her with big e/c eyes and noticed her reluctance. You opened your mouth a little to speak. Your voice dropping with the fear that your mother didn't actually want to play with you like you thought.

"Momma... smile back at me.."

Your mother's bangs covered her face and her head down. Nervous with her response you stared up at her with anticipation. After a silence had filled the room she looked at you with a smile that had been clearly forced.

"Of course... dear.."

Silence.

A foggy air filled the room and the once s/c skin that had always appeared on your features turned to a cold paper white, your eyes turning lifeless black and your cheeks loosing it's color.

The image looking back at your mother had no longer been the little girl previously standing there...

Your mother knelt down in front of the small figure and hesitated to speak to the faceless child

"Alright.. Something...

"I want you to kill your father."

"... Kay."
