Elsa's POV:

"60 pieces of chocolate."

"Anna, I am not getting you 60 pieces of chocolate," I said, rolling my eyes.

Anna glared at me "Fine, I guess I'll just have to tell mom and dad about your little evening rendezvous with Yela."

"Shh! Keep your voice down."
"Relax Elsa," she said, flopping down onto my bed. "Your room is like the most secluded place in the castle, it's like mom and dad don't want anyone to know that you exist. Not even the maids!" She must have caught a glimpse of my hurt expression because she immediately followed with. "Well you know because of your powers and stuff..."

I kept my eyes glued to the ground. Though I knew what my parents thought of my powers, why I was kept away from the rest of society until my coronation; it still pained me to hear the words come out of my sister's mouth. Maybe in my own mind I was writing a different narrative for myself, maybe hearing it from someone else just proved how much false hope I had been giving myself over the past years. Maybe it proved that I truly was... a monster.

"I think I need some time alone," I said to Anna.

"Oh sure, of course," she replied, making her way off of my bed and to the door.

Maybe it was guilt, or she had a sudden change of heart but before she left she said, "I won't tell mom and dad about your plans for tonight."

My heart filled with glee. Even if it were just for one night, I would get a taste of freedom. I could hardly contain myself for the rest of the day because, who knows, what might await me outside of these castle walls.
