how many times are we going to subject ourselves
to the pain
of knowing that we didn't mean anything
to this person in front of us
when we remember
all the times that we spent
laughing having fun
and when they mattered more to us than any one else
how many times are we going to look into their eyes
and see that pitied look
that says "Who are you?"
and then we pretend
that we never noticed it when they answer
"W-w-why of course! How could I forget you?"
when we both know very well
that our very existence has been erased
from every crevas of their mind
