MORE DREAMS AND MEMORIES

FLASHBACK
MARCH 2018

Abeni Mustapha scurried around the loft that she shared with her daughter gathering relics, crystals, salts, amplifiers, spell books and grimoires. Anything that she could use to amplify her magic.

She had been stepping on one of her dining chairs to reach the top shelf of her bookcase to get some more books when she heard the door bell ring.

"Abby is everything okay? When you called you sounded scared and heres the book you asked for." Madelyn babbled as she walked in. Her eyes widened at the scene.

"Why does it look like one of my family members from Salem crashed here for the weekend?" Madelyn asked as she saw the magical items scattered across the living room.

"l need them. For a spell." Abeni explained as she went back to the bookcase and stood on the chair.

"Why don't you use your powers to get that book?" Madelyn asked as she started
browsing through the books that her friend had already pulled out.

"l need to save as much of my magic as I can." She huffed before finally reaching the old book.

Madelyn scanned around the loft until her
eyes landed on the table filled with frames of treasure photographs. From pictures of

Harlow and her mom to pictures of Harlow and her best friends. Centred between the others laid a picture of Harlow, Abeni and her two late brothers, Derek and Xavier.

That picture had a small candle infront of it that bared the flame of the mourning and remembered not a flame

of destruction. A flame that burned until the family had moved on from that tragedy, the trauma. But alas the candle stayed lit, four years later.

Madelyn had only met the boys once in her life but they were absolutely delightful, kind, charming young men who didn't deserve their fate.

Then she noticed this small group of envelopes, each with a name on it. The white envelope bared the name of her last living child with a small sticker of sid the sloth from ice age.

It was if Madelyn's powers were on rocket fuel for she could tell, feel that Abeni was about to do something crazy but mostly reckless.

Madelyn quickly ran around the loft trying to find her friend.

"Abby! Abby!" She called as the heels of her boots hit the floor. She halted when she saw her setting up all her Crystal's and pouring her powders and salts.
