Chapter 03 : Chucks

I feel like getting some drinks anyone fancy going to Chucks ?

I sent the message to everyone. As I waited for a reply, I looked through my clothes trying to figure out what to wear. When I finally figured out what to wear my phone went off.

Arabella : Sure sounds like fun I'll meet you there in an hour.

Matty : Count me in I've been craving a burger and a pint.

After I got confirmation from everyone I made quickly got dressed and made my way to Chucks. I decided to walk because the weather was perfect, the sun was barely showing through the clouds so it wasn't to bright and it wasn't hot nor cold, it was just perfect.

It was a 30 minute walk to Chucks and once I made it to the joint I went up to the counter and said hello to Beth the cashier and made my way to the back. I was really good friends with the owner of this place. His name is Charles V(picture on the side). I think it's quite hilarious because his family has been owning this joint for a century and every time a boy was born into their family they named him Charles so he would be the next owner of this tiny restaurant. Since my Mom was good friends with Charles IV when Charles V took over we became instantly became friends so it was normal for me to just walk in like I owned the place as well.

When I entered the kitchen I saw him seasoning some chips with his family's special seasoning.

"Hiya Chuck." I said while stealing a chip.
"Oh hi Rose" he said barley glancing my ways as he made his way to front with the plate of food in his hands.

I quickly followed him "My friends are coming in a few for some drinks and your famous burgers." I said with a smile.

"You have friends?" He replied sarcastically then bursted out laughing when I hit him on the arm with the most hurt face I could muster without laughing along. After seconds of trying to pretend to be hurt I started laughing along with him. He had the most contagious laugh in the world that it was impossible to not laugh along, even Beth was trying to hold in her laughter.

Once we settled down I asked for 5 orders of burgers and chips then went to sit down at my usual table in the back by a window, and waited for my mates to show up. After 10 mins of waiting Eileen, Matt and Derick showed up and Matt immediately went to order pints after I told him Id forgotten .

" How long have you been here?" Eileen asked.
"About 20 minutes."
"And Bella still isn't here?"
"You know Bella she dresses up to go grocery shopping." Matt said when he came back with a tray of pints and the food I ordered.
"Speak of the devil" Derick said glancing out the window.

Sure enough Arabella was walking towards us with a floral dress with a denim jacket over it.
"It's about time I was starting to think you stood us up." Matt said wrapping his arms around her waist.
"Shut up Matt" she said giving him a quick kiss then siting down next to me.
"You two are so cute it makes my heart hurt ." I said sarcastically with my hand around my heart.
"We can be more cute then them can't we Derick" Eileen said giving him hug then glancing up at him for an answer.
"No I think they got us beat" he said then threw a chip into his mouth while Eileen's mouth was hanging wide open.
"Close your mouth or you might catch a fly" I said then took a bite out of my burger.
"I'm only joking Eileen they could never be cuter then us" he said with a cheeky smile then gave Eileen a peck on the lips which seemed to make her happy.

"Why don't you find someone Rosalie? Your the only one of us without a boyfriend." Eileen asked.
"I don't need a man to make me happy, plus my last relationship ended pretty badly so I'm pretty much sick of guys right now."

My thoughts went straight to the day I found out that my boyfriend was stealing from me. The worst part was that he already had a girlfriend and he would buy her stuff with from the money that he got from selling the stuff he stole from me. I found one night when he tried to steal my moms ring. He made the mistake of stepping on my cats tail and when she hissed I woke up and saw the ring in his hand instead of the box of jewelry I had in my bedside drawer. After I saw that I questioned him and got him to spill everything.

Eileen gave me a sympathetic look and I started to feel uncomfortable. "I'm fine, stop looking at me like that."
After that I quickly changed the subject and we all went along, everyone forgetting about my last relationship.

After we finished up our food and talked a bit more we all decided it was time to head home. I said a quick goodbye to Chuck and Beth then walked outside with the gang. After talking some more we all parted ways and I started walking towards my flat. It was about 10 minutes away from my flat when I walked close to a house where I heard screaming. Just when I was about to pass the house I heard the door being yanked opened then slammed shut.

When I looked to see who it was that was so angry, I saw the last person I would think to see on the front porch.

"Hey I know you."
