"GET UP BLYTHE!" Rick called from down stairs. Blythe shifted in her bed under the heavy navy blue blanket that laid above her. Three knocks she heard, "Blythe! Get your lazy ass up!" The blonde girl rolled to her side ripping the covers off her slim body. Her bare feet met with the cold wooden slabs of her floor, she walked over to the door that was on the opposite side of her room.
She turned the knob and slowly opened the door only to see Rick Riley, a childhood friend, impatiently waiting for her. "What are you doing? Get dressed!" Rick rolled his eyes and shut the door. "First day of your freshman year. Your going to be on the varsity team, Bee. Get ready." Blythe's eyes widened, she rushed to her closet pulling boyfriend jeans from her drawer and an oversized crew kneck off a hanger.
She quickly changed out of her dad's old shirt into her clothes. Moving to the vanity she took her brush and swiftly ran it through her short blonde hair. She placed the brush back into the drawer and took a bright red lipstick out. The girl stood from her chair walking to the door. Blythe twisted the knob taking the flannel shirt off of the small chair that sat next to the door and walked out of her indie style room.
She pulled the door open and walked out, looking to her left she was met with Rick who was leaning on the wall with his arms crossed. "Took you long enough." He joked with an eye roll. "Now. Varsity here we come! Here's a bagel." He handed the shorter girl a warm paper bag.
"Ooh. Let's go, I'll eat on the way." She took the bag from his hand and ran down the stairs to pick up her shoes. "Come on Riley, you're slow." The blonde walked out of the house with her platformed Converse boots hanging over her shoulder.
As she sat in the dark red car with leather seats she immediately pulled the mirror down taking her red lipstick out of her bag. Rick turned to the inside of the house and told the girls older brother, Brian, a "good bye." Blythe rolled her eyes and reached over to the wheel, pushing about twice to there was loud honks. "Hurry up Rick!"
Rick looked over to his car and rolled his eyes, looking back to the house he waves and shut the door. "You are so impatient."
"Yeah, but you love me." The blonde exaggerate. "No I don't."
"Yes you do."
"Nope."

"Blythe Rhodes!" Finley ran over to her best friend. "Finley Mae!" She squealed as they shared a hug.
Finlley and Blythe have been friends since the second grade field trip when Blythe lost her pink water bottle, Finley gave the blonde her green one.
"Why are you wearing this? I mean I know about the flannel but was it all necessary?" Finley asked walking out of the hug.
"What do you mean? I look amazing, and you can't talk walking around like an attractive banana." Blythe smiled as she walked pass the girl and into the auditorium. Finley blushed at the name Blythe had gave her and ran after the taller girl. "I mean, what person wears a single color?"
"Well, I do." Finley answered looking for a place to sit. "There!" She pointed to two open seats near varsity.
"Go, go, go. Before someone takes them." Blythe shoved Finley in front of her. The taller girl stumbled upon many people, tripping over the feet of a boy in a black cowboy hat. "Hello." She smiled at the Asian boy she fell on.
The boy was cute, but to Finley, she already thought he was stuck up and annoying. "Uh, hi?" The boy awkwardly smiled looking to Blythe and the boy in the hat. "Right! Sorry. I'll get off of you now." Blythe pursed her lips to a smile and quickly got off of the boy.
