---------------------------------Russia's POV
He looked around, trying to figure out where he was. The trees around him seemed all the same, and wherever he turned around, all he could see was an endless maze of vegetation and rocks.
He sighed, trying to calm himself.
Today was his first mating season and his first full moon. He had been so happy to run along with the rest of the pack, feeling the fresh air hitting his skin, following the light of the moon and embracing the feeling of freedom and the excitement of, maybe, finally finding his soulmate.
He had been raised waiting for this very night, believing in the idea that it would be magical. He would run along with the pack, following the blue moon, howling freely into the night and feeling the ground flying under his bare feet. Then, he would feel the connection, a small but constant pull towards his destined one. He would separate from the others, following the invisible string that united his heart with his soulmate's and when he saw them, everything would click in the perfect place.
He had dreamt about it for years, but now it was over.
He growled, walking in circles. It was dangerous to be here on his own, being an Omega far away from his pack. But everything had happened so fast. He had walked out of the path, too mesmerized with the sight of the shining blue moon on the sky to notice it at first. The lack of a solid floor had made him gasp, and then he had found himself rolling harshly against rocks and dirt.
Everything had gone dark.
He didn't know how much time he had been unconscious, but given the fact that the moon was still high in the sky, shining beautifully, it was obvious it had been just a few minutes. He could even hear the howls of his pack getting further away with each passing second. Calling them would be useless, after all they would be too entranced to hear his voice.
He sighed, turning around to face the steep wall of stones he had fell through. There was no way to climb it, and even trying could injure him badly. Also, he could imagine what falling in the middle of the way up could do to him... He had been lucky to have just a few bruises from the first fall, but that wouldn't happen a second time.
"Ok Russia. Just breathe. Everything is going to be ok, you just need to look for another way to get home." He mumbled, trying to give himself some courage. "Yeah! That's fine! Just follow their scents. Your soulmate can wait another year." He said louder, taking off his hat and shaking his head, trying to focus onto his pack smell.
The sinking feeling of panic returned when he noticed he couldn't catch the well known smell of the pack.. Something was blocking it.
He walked into the forest, sniffing the air and trying to suppress the instinct to flatten his ears against his skull. The sound of leaves on the ground and the wind blowing through the branches made him more and more nervous as the minutes passed.
Then, he caught it. The unfamiliar scent of another pack.
He could feel his heart racing in fear.
He had to get away from there. If he was found here they would kill him without questioning or maybe even worse.
His body reacted before his mind and, in a matter of seconds, he found himself dashing through the unknown territory blindly, scurrying through it by mere instinct, just trying to get away from the smell.
