THIS BELONGS TO J.K. ROWLING! I REPEAT! I DO NOT OWN HARRY POTTER OR ANY OF HIS FRIENDS, FAMILY, ENEMYS OR WHATEVER!
****************
It was weird, this feeling in my chest, I was in a strange place where I didn't know what to expect, but I felt home in a way that I hadn't felt since my parents died by those stupid muggle's hand. Don't get me wrong I was never a Muggle hater even though I am a pure blood, I just that since that muggle killed my parents I don't like muggles in general, but don't worry, I'm not going to become a genocide like Voldemort or anything...
As the empty train approached the castle I had the strangest feeling of belonging, I mean, I didn't want to be here before, I loved Paris and I had to leave my beautiful city, but one look at the castle and I felt like I was supposed to be here, like something important would happened in this place. Who knows? Maybe I and my grandmother would become real close...
The train came to a stop and I jumped out of it anxious to meet her, my grandmother. But what I saw wasn't what I expected at all. As soon as is stepped out an elderly woman looked at me judgmentally like apprizing me from head to toe and I returned the favor: she had a tight bun of gray hair on her head, her robes were clean and neat and her hat was tall and pointy. I could see she was a traditional witch and by the look in her I eyes I could say she knew I wasn't.
"Kaitlin Colbie Runner?"She asked me with hope that I wasn't me, but I nodded and she pursed her lips into a thin line. "Very well, follow me."
She didn't say another word, just leaded me to that huge castle that was Hogwarts where I knew classes had started in September, right now it is November... Great! I'm the new girl in the middle of the year!
The woman continued to lead me trough halls and halls and I couldn't help but notice the way she looked like my dad, she had the same nose and the same severe green eyes, but my dad only used his severe look when I did what I wasn't supposed to and I hadn't even the severe look I only had the green eyes , my dad used to have laugh lines that her face was missing. I already knew I didn't like this woman and that she didn't like me, but I also couldn't deny that she was my grandmother, but whatever that DOES NOT mean she's my family!
She stopped in front of a huge set of oak doors.
"Kaitlin, I've been reading your reports from Beauxbatons..." She pursued her lips tighter. "You notes are average and according to that paper you've won for four years straight the... Beauty pageant Madam Maxime insist on having..." She said beauty as if it was the worst word in the world.
"Yes!" I smiled even though she disapproved, because I was proud of winning. I passed my hand trough my braids.
Most people thought I was a brunet version of a dumb blond, but most people didn't know that I was smart; I just didn't like to study... I saved my smarts for other areas.
"I see... Well, Kaitlin, I just wanted to warn you that here at Hogwarts we don't have this useless beauty... thing... Here you'll have to study harder and I advise you to make friends with the right people." She said seriously before pulling the door open and leading me into the dining hall where everyone from each of the four tables looked at me, I'm guessing Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin. I had read Hogwarts a history I just hadn't liked it.
My grandmother... I don't like the term grandmother for her! My mom's mother was sweet warm, smelled like cookies and tells me as often as she can that I'm the prettiest girl in the whole wide world... I miss her; too bad I had to leave her in Paris... Anyway this woman wasn't my grandmother she's only Minerva...
So, Minerva led me to the front of the hall next to Albus Dumbledore who started to speak.
"Well students, now that we have our stomachs full I would like to introduce a new student to you Kaitlin Colbie Runner, who will now be sorted!" Dumbledore announced.
An everyone's eyes was on me while an old hat was sat over my head.
'Ha! That's curious... The daughter of Mary Runner who was a Gryffindor and Travis McGonagall a Ravenclaw, but neither of their personality lies within you... You're not extremely brave...' True 'Nor very cunning...' True again 'You're smart, but not book smart... Ow, now I see, loyal beyond believe that you're... I have to say you're a true HUFFLEPUFF!' The hat announced the last part for everyone to hear and I was glad with where I was put.
A table beneath a yellow flag clapped vigorously and I went to them, but not before seeing Minerva's unimpressed face. I bit my tongue from telling her to go screw herself; god knows that no one else but her would want to do that.
I ran to the table and a boy made space for me to sit next to him. Once I was sat that I saw across the hall, him, a stunning boy... His hair was so blond it was almost white and looked so soft my fingers twitched to touch it, his eyes were of a beautiful gray that seemed to look through my soul, he looked sixteen like me and even form across the hall I could see he was muscular, but not overly built, though he looked strong... I wanted HIM!
