Mr. Tapas Pal is an employee working in an IT company in Kolkata. He had the passion of travelling in different parts of India. He had visited a tourism office named National Tourism. He met Mr. Shyamal Nandy and shared his interest to visit the biosphere reserve. The office of National Tourism is located in Park Street, Kolkata.
Tapas asked, "I would like to visit biosphere reserves, can you tell me something about them?"
Shyamal said, "There are 18 biosphere reserves. They are nilgiri, nandadevi, narkek, ,manas, dibru-saikhowa, sundarban, mannar, great nicobar, simlipal, dehong-dabang, and kanchanjunga. "
Tapas said, "I plan to visit all these biosphere reserves. Create a tour plan immediately!"
Shyamal said, "Okay I will send you the planning with cost of accommodation and travelling via email. "
Tapas said, "Thank you! Can you share the different biogeographic zones?"
Shyamal said, " They are transhimalayan, Himalayan, Indian desert, western ghat, southern plateau, gangetic plains, seashore, northeast india and islands. In this zone, there are 25 biogeographic zones."
Tapas asked, "When did the biogeographic hotspots identified?"
Shyamal said, "They are found in the year 1999. There are 25 biodiversity hotspots. It is 2.3 percent of the land area of earth. The organisms in these hotspots are in danger! 70 percent species have become extinct. In these hotspots, 50 percent plants of the world, 42 percent vertebrates are present."
Tapas said, "This is really interesting! I will write research papers after visiting these zones! Can you tell me about coral reefs? I would like to visit them also. "
Shyamal said, "About 2383.87 sq km coral reef have been found in India. They are mannar, lakshyadeep, kutch and Andaman and nicobar island. "
Tapas said, "Is there any research center for coral reef ?"
Shyamal said, "At Port Blair, there is National Coral Reef Research Center. About 80% coral reef is found in India."
Tapas said, "I will definitely visit port blair and check those reefs. "
Shyamal said, "I will organize the tour plan and send you the details of accommodation and travelling."
Tapas said, "Thank you!"
