It's Christmas Eve and New York is abuzz. All the streets are decorated, soft snowflakes are coming down from the sky and a giant Christmas tree has been set in center of Central Park. At the Museum of Natural History happiness reigns. Hundreds of kids wonder around the decorated halls.
I just got back from London, I stayed with my parents for a week to keep them company for a while, but I've planned to spend Christmas in New York and at the museum, with Larry, Nicky, the museum exhibits and my almost-boyfriend. Almost, because I still don't know what we are. We liked each other, that was obvious to both of us, we were always together, often hugged, sometimes we kissed. Everything perfect right? Only one problem. He's a 3000-year-old egyptian pharaoh with the permanent look of a 23-year-old that comes to life only at night and during the day is a corps. Not quite comfortable. But I loved him a lot, so I didn't make it much of a problem.
I arrived at the museum at lunch time, when there was less people, and I went towards Rebecca, who like always was organizing the guided tours. When she saw me she smiled and came to me

-Alice!-

-Hi Rebecca! Merry Christmas!-

-Merry Christmas to you!-

We hugged

-How was it in London?-

-Everything was great! And here? Everything's good?-

-Larry's doing great-

I smiled. Then Rebecca remembered something

-Hey! Now that I remember! For today and tomorrow we'll have a Christmas exhibit with Santa Claus' wax statue and with him a reproduction of his sleigh with the reindeers!-

My mouth wide opened

-You gotta be kidding me-

-Absolutely no! We used an empty hall near the old Planetarium, you get to it through the internal court-

I smiled widely

-I'll go check it out!-

I went where Rebecca said. I got out in the internal court and went through the big doors. It was lunch time, so there was less people, but still there were a lot of kids. I went near the group of children. And my eyes widened. An enormous red sleigh towed by nine reindeers dominated the hall. Near it, the smiling wax statue of Father Christmas. The kids took turns to sit in the sleigh, that was coated with red velvet

-Well well well! Look who's back!-

I turned around and saw McPhee

-Goodevening Dr. McPhee! Merry Christmas!- I said, shaking his hand

-Merry Christmas to you! Do you like our new exhibit?-

-Very much! And it seems the visitors like it to!-

-Yes yes!-

I turned again towards the sleigh

-Today I'll stop here until late, I'll keep Larry company-

-Alright, no problem with that-

I checked the time and gasped

-My gods! I'm late! Sorry Dr. McPhee, I have to go, I'll be back just before closing time! Goodbye!-

-Goodbye Miss Greenleaf!-

I ran back to the main Hall, waved at Rebecca and burst out of the museum, catching a taxi to go home.

-Finished!-

I let myself fall back on the chair. I was home, in my study, the desk was covered with pencils. I had just finished my present for Ahkmenrah: a portrait of him. I looked at my work and smiled. I framed it and wrapped it.
It was starting to get darker outside, so I decided to eat, change my clothes and head to the museum.
I got there just before closing time and I said goodbye to Rebecca, then I went to Larry's office
