After the morning we just had I am praying that court goes smoother for all of us.
Hayley is the only one that is allowed to go and sit down in the court room, while Logan, her dad and myself are escorted to this small waiting room.
Logan sits beside me and I wrap my arm around her as she rests her head on my shoulder.
"I'm sorry sir, but there is no holding or touching in this room. I have to make sure you guys aren't talking to one another," the court officer says to me.
Before I can say anything, Evan steps in.
"Can we not make an exception just this once. No one wants to see this woman go away more than the three of us. My daughter just went through a very traumatic event this morning and her fiancé is just trying to comfort her. I promise we won't talk to one another," he says.
The officer looks at Logan and sees the tiredness and pain in her eyes and smiles at her.
"Alright, you can comfort her sir, but please no talking and don't make me regret this," he says kindly.
I thank him and Logan rests her head on my shoulder again and starts to drift off a little.
The court officer comes up to me little later and lets me know it's my turn to head in.
I walk into the court room and see Chole or Charlotte, whatever the hell her name is, sitting there looking like she couldn't hurt a fly.
They swear me in and I sit down.
"Please state your name for the record," the District Attorney says.
"Thomas Hanover," I say
"Thank you," she says.
"Please tell us in your own words Mr. Hanover, what happened on the day in question."
I recount what happened on that day for the jury. I make sure to not leave out a single thing. Wanting to make them feel how scared I was for Logan.
The D.A. also has me describe everything leading up to that day. The text messages and calls that Logan received and the night where Chole/Charlotte broke into my condo and taped Logan and I.
The defense really didn't have any questions for me and I was excused. I went and sat with Hayley and tried my best to comfort her. Up next they called Logan and she walked in.
I gave her a reassuring smile and nod as she got up there and sat down.
She was sworn in like me and looked at Chole with fear in her eyes. Even though she couldn't get to Logan, she was still terrified of her.
"Please state your name for the record", the D.A. asked her.
"Logan Donaldson," she said.
The D.A. had her go over everything that happened that night, as well as the months leading up to it.
The defense attorney stood up, "Ms. Donaldson, are you jealous of my client?"
"Absolutely not. There is no reason I should be," she said confidently.
"Isn't it true that you were seen yelling at Mr. Hanover, your boyfriend at the time, because you thought he was coming onto my client?"
"That was a misunderstanding and he wasn't coming onto her. She was coming onto him and he turned her down," she says.
"So you aren't jealous of her and scared that she might take him away?"
"Not at all. Tom and I are rock solid and he proposed to me," she says confidently.
