Natasha's POV:
I walked to see Bruce "hey Banner what you got for me?" he pointed to a table with an array of weapons and gear on it "this kids loaded guys, look at all this stuff" I walked over to the table and looked at everything "please tell me you used gloves" he waved his hand "I already took prints and DNA so your fine" I nodded and Clint picked up a Glock 26 "where did she get all these weapons?" Steve looked at him "we all know where she got them" I picked up a knife on the table and fiddled with it "ok...did you find out who she was?" he looked at me "that's the thing, she doesn't exist" I put the knife down "what?" he handed me a tablet "no hospital records, no birth certificate, no social security. The worst thing is that you can find her picture everywhere in crime scenes but she's a different person every time, her name is different in almost forty countries" I scrolled and Wanda came up behind me, I handed the tablet to her to read and Steve spoke "so the kids been busy" Bruce nodded "very" I placed my hands on the table "is there anything else?" he held up a bag and threw it to me "I separated her clothes from her...well things" I nodded and opened the bag then Wanda took it from me "babe I'll take care of this, Fury is here" I kissed Wanda and went to the briefing room
"Director Fury" he turned to me "Agent Romanoff, hello" I nodded and he walked beside me "shall we go see this girl?" I nodded "yes sir" he looked at me "debrief as you walk with me Romanoff" I walked with him "The girl was found in a bunker, she pulled a gun on us, put two agents down, then pulled a knife on peter, once she tried to get away I hit her with a widow bite" he nodded "well done stopping the girl. How's Peter?" I walked "thank you sir and he's fine, you know he's resilient" he nodded "what do you see?" I looked at him "sir?" we stood by the door to the lab "in the child" I looked at him "she's scared and she's trying to cover it with being cold and rude" Fury looked at me "sounds like someone I knew" I looked up at him and ignored his comment "what are my orders sir?" he looked at me "do what you think is right. I expect an update daily" I watched him "what do I do with her? she's a child" he nodded "exactly, you'll know what to do Agent Romanoff" He walked away leaving me to go back to the team.
I walked back in and Tony looked at me "so what's the verdict?" I looked at them "Fury told me to do what I think I should" Steve nodded "ok and what are you gonna do?" I stood and thought for a minute then spoke "talk to her, bring Wanda" Wanda looked at me "what do we say?" I held her hand "lets just focus on the basics then we go from there"
Nova's POV:
I jolted awake and looked around to a grey room. There was a single chair in the corner and my ankle was cuffed to the bed. I looked around for my bag and then started patting my body to feel none of my gear on me. I began to tug at the cuff around my ankle and panicked when I realized where I last was. How did they catch me?
Natasha's POV:
I was talking with the team when Wanda came up behind me then handed me the tablet "babe, she's awake" I cupped her face and kissed her "ok baby, lets go" I held her hand as I walked with Wanda to the containment module the girl was in. "grid unlock protocol Romanoff" the door beeped and I held the door for Wanda then followed behind her. The girl was tugging at the cuff around her ankle and I spoke "your just gonna hurt yourself kid" she looked up at me and grit her teeth "let me out of here!" Wanda sat down in the chair and I stood behind her, I gently spoke "were just here to talk" she crossed her arms "no one's ever just here to talk" the child mocked me and I walked closer "what's your name?" she glared at me "what's yours?" I smiled to myself, she was a smart kid, still I decided to answer "I'm Natasha Romanoff and that is Wanda Maximoff" I said pointing to my girlfriend and the girl looked over at her then back at me "what do you want?" I folded my arms and leaned against the arm of the chair "to help" she chuckled "to help?! oh your funny. No one is here to help, they always want something in return. I'm only nine and I know that much" I shook my head "and what is it you think we want in return?" she looked at me "intel" I looked at her "care to elaborate?" she gave me a grin "care to uncuff me?" I shook my head "no can do" she huffed "where's my bag?" I looked at her "safe" she folded her arms and furrowed her eyebrows "nothings ever safe with people like you" Wanda looked at me then at the girl "people like us?"
The child sat back and curled up under the blanket "come back when you've decided to let me go" I looked at Wanda and she started to create the wisps in her hand but I shook my head no then spoke "whenever you want to decide to start talking just wave" I walked to the door with Wanda then closed it "grid lock protocol Romanoff" the door beeped and Wanda looked at me "she's nine" I nodded then spoke "and she thinks everyone is going to hurt her. Did you see her eyes? I counted every fifteen seconds she checked her surroundings" Wanda nodded "she has intel from somewhere too" I smiled and Wanda kissed my head then giggled, "What?" I smiled and she looked at me "your cute when you interrogate" I laughed "thanks baby"

We had told the team what we learned and now I was laying in bed with Wanda and running my nails along her back with one hand behind my head, she looked up at me and spoke "Nat?" I looked at her "yes love?" she laid on her stomach then propped her head up with her hands, I shifted so I could see her better and then she spoke "do you think she's ok?" I nodded "she'll come around baby" Wanda looked at me "you sure?" I brushed hair out of her face "yes baby now go to sleep" she nodded and laid her head down then mumbled "I love you baby" I kissed her head "I love you babe"
-Time skip-
It had been three hours since Wanda fell asleep. I however could not fall asleep. Something was pulling me to want to go check on the nine year old girl. I gently removed my arm from behind Wanda's head and placed her head back on the pillow then kissed her cheek. My girlfriends face formed into a smile and I melted before going to the lab.
I looked at the girls belongings on the table and a bag caught my eye. I lifted it and pulled out an old teddy bear and blanket. I looked up to the screen that was playing the live feed of the girls containment module. She was sitting up in her bed. One of her knees tucked under her chin and the other leg restricted from the cuff that held her ankle. I grabbed a icer and slid it in my waistband then covered it with my shirt. I grabbed the bear, the blanket and a water bottle before heading to the childs door.
I opened the door and walked down the steps. Her head shot up and I placed the things on a chair and stood next to it "your awake" the girl nodded and for the first time I saw the exhaustion and fear in her eyes. I sighed "are you ok?" she mumbled "I have to pee" I tilted my head "I told guards to take you hours ago" she shook her head "well they didn't come" I sighed and walked up to her and gently grabbed her ankle, she yanked it back and I looked up at her gently speaking "shhh relax I'm just going to uncuff you so I can escort you to the bathroom" she loosened the tension in her joint and I pulled it back and unlocked it. She rubbed her ankle and I held out my hand "come, and don't get any smart ideas" she took my hand and I walked with her. It was silent, you could hear the child's feet as she stepped across the hall. I took her into my room and stood by the bathroom door and handed her some clothes from her bag "get changed, two minutes"
I stood by the door and Wanda stirred "Nat?" I smiled "shhh go back to sleep love" she mumbled in her groggy voice "what are you doing?" I gestured towards the door "no one took the girl to the bathroom" Wanda smiled in the darkness "softie" I stuck my tongue out at her and the door opened. The girl stood there with her clothes in hand and I took them from her "well done. Thirty seconds to spare too" she rubbed her eyes and I held her hand "lets get you to bed"
I walked her back down the hall and to her room "grid unlock protocol Romanoff" the door beeped and I opened it then placed my hand on the small of her back guiding her in. She flinched and jumped forward. I let her walk down to her bed and I watched as she laid in it. Her eyes watched the chair and I grabbed the items and walked over to her "do you want these?" she laid there emotionless but her eyes said yes. I covered her with the blue blanket and placed the bear in front of her. I watched her for a minute then took the cuff off the metal bar then slid them in my back pocket "I'm trusting you to not make me regret letting you sleep uncuffed you hear?" she nodded and I buried a smile "night" she watched me as I turned then I heard her small voice "thank you" she whispered and I turned on my heal "your welcome hun" she looked down and mumbled as I was leaving "Nova" I turned to her again "what did you say hun? I'm sorry I didn't catch that" I did catch it but I wanted to hear her say it again "My names Nova" I smiled "well goodnight Nova" she nodded "Night Agent Romanoff"
I left and closed the door "grid lock protocol Romanoff" the door beeped and I walked back to my room. Nova. What a beautiful name.
