‼️UNEDITED‼️

3 Weeks Later

The weeks following the incident were the worst for Taraji. She had kept it a secret and it was eating her alive. If she told her husband, she knew he would react terribly and she had no desire to risk losing him, even if it meant carrying this baggage along with her. When the secret was revealed, there was no telling what he would do, but it was known that it wouldn't be anything good. But withholding this information from Terrence also made him not aware of the threat to come towards his family.

Slowly awakening from her sleep, Taraji stretched, looking over at Terrence still sleeping, before walking over towards the restroom. Sitting down on the commode to relieve herself, the phone call replayed in her head. How the hell did he get her number? She'd changed it 50 million times already. Shaking her head, she tried not to dwell so hardly on the situation. Finishing up in the restroom, she headed back to bed, in hopes of getting a few more moments of sleep.

Right when Taraji was situated and began to close her eyes..."Mommy!" Kenya bursted into the master bedroom with her stuffed animal. She had a look of straight worry on her face. "What's the matter baby? Why aren't you asleep?" Taraji asked groggily. "I had a scary dream mommy." Kenya cried. "The monsters were coming for me and daddy wasn't there to save me." Taraji's heart sank. The very thing that scared her the most was coming true through her daughter's dream. To Kenya, the dream was just frightening from the monsters, but to Taraji, it went way deeper than that.

"Come on baby. Sleep with us." Taraji held her arms out for her daughter. Taraji made a space between her and her husband, allowing Kenya to crawl in the middle. "It was really scary mama. The monsters were big and they had green tongues and they were really stinky." She scrunched her nose up. "Well baby you can forget about those monsters. They'll have to get through a really tough papa bear and mama bear." Taraji assured Kenya, while she began to tuck her in. "And they'll also have to get through every strong man in the house. Including Qirin and Hero."

"And Celly too mama?" Kenya's demeanor lit up at the realization of all the people she had by her side. "Celly too baby. Now you get some rest. You guys have one more day of school tomorrow before you're out for the summer." Taraji kissed her daughter's cheek. "Goodnight baby I love you." "Goodnight mommy." Kenya stated before she started to drift off to sleep.

The Next Day

"We have 15 minutes left of class and with that time you guys can go around and sign yearbooks. Don't go crazy in the hallways or we'll write definitions for the remainder of the time." Qirin's teacher told their class. The children dispersed, congregating with their fellow friends, and discussing their summer plans.

"Qirin! Over here!" One of his friends from a different class called out once he entered into the hallway. Qirin went over to meet him, along with a few of his other friends that were gathered around. As he got closer, he noticed two boys that never usually hung out with him and his crew, they were more of the troublemakers and way too ahead of a fifth graders' mind.

"Q this is Darius and Jacoby." His friend Hayden introduced to him. "They're really cool people." His friend Andre added. "What's up?" Qirin greeted. "What's up man." Darius went to dap Q up. Jacoby did the same. "So are we all linking up today? Cheers to no school for three months?" Hayden brought up. "Yeah man I thought we were going to your house?" Qirin returned.

"See that was the plan at first, but my parents aren't gonna be here. They're going out." He stated. "And we can't go to mine because my mom said I can't have company." Andre added. "And your house is the biggest for the five of us." Hayden pestered. "Five!?" Qirin exclaimed, wondering how three went to five. "Yeah, Darius and Jacoby are gonna come too." "You don't mind us coming do you?" Jacoby pressed. "Their house is so huge. Like this school can fit inside of it." Andre said. "Can't be that big. Really? What do your parents do?" Darius asked. "His parent are literally Cookie and Lucious." "Ugh here we go again." Qirin rolled his eyes. He hated how much attention was brought to him on a daily basis. "From Empire? My mama used to watch that show. That's dope." Jacoby said. "Well I still have to ask my parents, I don't know if they'll say yes." Qirin stated. In all honesty, he was not down for them to all stay over, being that he had no idea who Jacoby and Darius even were, just that they were always in trouble. "Ouu you mean we might be in the same house as Cookie's fine ass?" Jacoby mused on the low to Darius.
