Chapter eight ~ how did you find out?

Scarlett had been thinking lately. She never told her siblings about Ben. So how did they find out?

"Alex, can I talk to you?" Scarlett asks sitting next to Alex on his bed

"Sure. What's up?" Alex asks

"How did you find out about Ben?" Scarlett asks

"What do you mean?" Alex asks

"How did you find out Ben was abusing me?" Scarlett asks straight forward

"I- um" Alex says having trouble forming words

"Alex...how did you find out? This is important because no one else knows about this" Scarlett says

"He was trying to take advantage of you wasn't he?" Alex asks

"Alex don't change the subject. Who told you?" Scarlett asks

"Well I need my question answered. Was he trying to take advantage of you? Was that why he started abusing you?" Alex asked

"I-" Scarlett says, not knowing what to say

"Scarlett...he was wasn't he" Alex says

"No" Scarlett replies

"Scarlett tell me the truth. You're my little sister and I need to know these things!" Alex says

"And I need you to explain to me who told you about Ben abusing me! I'm trying to figure this out!" Scarlett replied back to him

"Lily heard you and Dylan talking and she told me" Alex answered "now tell me the truth about Ben"

"I- I don't know what to tell you" Scarlett says

"Because it's true wasn't it?" Alex asks

Scarlett didn't say anything, she just sat there. After awhile a year dropped down her face.

"Hey, hey" Alex says pulling Scarlett into a hug

"I wasn't ready to do it and he got so mad because I didn't want to and that's when it started" Scarlett tells Alex

"And that's not on you. You did nothing wrong, he's just a jerk" Alex says wiping his sister's tears

Scarlett hugged Alex again.

"I love you Scarlett" Alex whispers

"I love you too Alex" Scarlett whispered back
