A month has passed and I'm throwing a surprise party for Maria! Jayson, Hailey, and a few other people from school are invited. She's turning fourteen, finally! It's going to be so fun, I'm getting her a new phone case and shoes. She'll love them, I know it.

So we moved into the new house and I haven't read any of the letters yet but today I got bored and so I did. I grabbed the key from my jewelery box and unlocked the hidden cabinet. I grabbed the bottom letter and carefully ripped the envelope open.

        Dear Mom,

Since you have passed I haven't stopped thinking about you. I miss you so much and Dad is so sad, he tries to find other girls. But they're all mean to me and don't like him. He misses you too much and can't move on. I wish you could come back.

I started to cryThis is heartbreaking, I took time to read everyone of them till I got to one from a year ago. It was too much and I had to stop. I couldn't deal with it anymore.

Mom, I hope you'll forgive me for the stupid things I've done. I wanted to see you again, and I thought if the scars went deep enough I would, but I realized how stupid it was. And I'm so, so sorry.

I was so mad at him, Jayson had cut himself before. How could he do something like that. I bursted out in tears and called him.

        "Genevieve! What's wrong?!"

        "You cut yourself."

        "..."

"WHY!? Don't you know how painful it is for people who care about you."

"You didn't even know me then, it wouldn't have even effected you."

"It's effecting me now. I don't have a mom either, she left us when I was 6 and lived with my aunt, and then she had cancer. I had been so depressed since and then I met you. You called me beautiful and told me my name was pretty. I needed that, without it I don't know what I would have done."

        "... I'm so sorry."

        "Me too."

I hung up immediately. He's dying inside, I know how he feels, because I'm dying inside too. One blink and you miss the most important things in life. I won't lose him though...

The day of Maria's party came and everyone was having a blast. Maria had been so surprised, she started crying. We had cake and presents and she got a bunch of cool stuff! Maria was so pretty and popular, I wish I could be like her.

Jayson was outside, as I walked towards him all the sounds blurred out. "Hey," I called out, "Everything okay." He sighed and turned to look at me, his eyes were glowing and he was more handsome than ever, "I've never been around a lot of people before," He said silently. I sat on a bench and motioned him to sit by me, "You know, Jayson, there's a first time for everything."

He smiled to himself. "What?!" I asked. He told me it was nothing and then I begged him to tell me. Before I knew it his lips were pressed against mine. I was shocked but went with it. "Sorry," He said quietly. I giggled and replied, "There's a first time for everything." I said back, "Just don't let my dad know, it might have been a peck, but he'd kill me." He pinky promised. We went back in and enjoyed the party.
