"Allow me to defend you, kiddo."
Kid Wing glanced up to see a deep sky-blue hologram hovering above the arm of her presumed lawyer behind the bulletproof glass. On the hologram shows a navy blue globe with a legal scale curved in the shape of the letter 'W,' and it glitched constantly due to age. Behind the hologram lies the warm smile of an old orange biplane, who Kid Wing believes to be her lawyer. He was wearing a brown fedora on his head, and his trademark pilot goggles were strapped on the hat's band, the rims facing in front of his client. His mustache was also pearl-white and pristine. Feeling hesitant, the purple jet looked down and shuffled her feet in silence.
The jet stopped moving, "But...this is my fault. I should have been there sooner to save her. I...I don't deserve this, Al."
"It's not your fault, Vicky. You were never responsible for the death of Blaze."
"..."
The biplane, whose full name is Grand Albert, twirled his mustache with a finger while awaiting an answer from Kid Wing, otherwise Vicky, herself. The detention center also grew colder throughout the silence, and Grand Albert noticed Kid Wing hugging herself to keep warm.
The biplane placed his hands on his lap, "Didn't you said you want to be a defense attorney to 'save others from peril?'"
A clock ticked in the distance.
Kid Wing whispered, "Yes."
"Hm?"
"I want to be a defense lawyer too, Albert. I always wanted to help others just like you.", the jet began to raise her voice.
"I..." the jet's smile began to crook downwards, "I just can't be one with a record like this. All of the evidence is stacked against me for the murder of Blaze, and—"
"Kid Wing, listen. Do not press yourself to be the culprit. I heard many stories of your adventures, and I fondly remember the time you saved several children from the boogeyman last Halloween, which is actually a burglar."
Kid Wing grinned weakly.
"They gave you a big bucket of candy for stopping the thief, and you came to Blaze with an upset stomach after that day."
"Heh.", Kid Wing pushed her chair forward, resulting in a quick and metallic screech echoing in the detention center. She rested her nose on the desk, which it nearly touched the glass from an inch.
The crimefighter swallowed, "Still. It doesn't convince me that I'm not a criminal, Grand Albert."
"You never were, and you'll never be one. Mark my words, Kid Wing."
Grand Albert spotted a guard drone next to a door behind the crimefighter, and he begins to worry that their time is nearly up.
Even the ticking clock isn't helping the biplane provide efficient advice for his client. Kid Wing remained silent behind the glass, and she pushed her mask back up.
"Kid?"
She looked up, "Well...I guess you have a point, Grand Albert." the fighter jet forced a smile for the old plane, even though the latter is not convinced that she is completely relieved.
