AMAYA
"Amaya?" His lips let out a small whisper of my name. His body unrelaxed, pupils expanding and rapid breathing. He was nervous.
"You can't end everything between us with just one text." I said softly, creating patterns over his wrist with my thumb.
"There was nothing between us." He said without any emotion. His words were bitter and for a second I thought of flashing his text over his face but then I realize that how he had already said in his text that he has to end everything even before it started.
"I know but for sure we've some sort of feelings for each other, don't you?" I asked, offering him a smile.
He opened his mouth to say something but then closed it. His eyes searched my face briefly while he placed his palms over my hands that held his wrist.
"Besides it ain't illegal." I raised my one eyebrow.
He chuckled and shook his head. "But doesn't it makes you uncomfortable?"
"I can ask the same to you, Min. Does it makes you uncomfortable to be with a girl who's seven years younger than you?" I rested my eyes on his palms above my hands. His smooth skin against the yellow skin of mine.
"No. It doesn't." He replied.
"You know, age difference could be an issue because at some point the thoughts of two people may conflict. The two of them might see the world with different perspectives but as long as we respect the differences, it'll not be that bad as people make it sound." I said.
"But-" I squeezed his wrist to stop him in middle.
"Don't fight your feelings."
"Okay." He mumbled under his breath.
I grinned and gestured towards the Ferris wheel. "Are you scared of height?"
He shrugged his shoulders. "I guess I'm going to hold your hand tighter."
I brought tickets for the ride and soon we settled ourselves in the seat. After clasping the safety belt, I offered him my hand which he gladly held.
"Tell me something about you." He said, playing with my fingers.
I looked at our thighs which were brushing against each other. It was comforting to know that he's beside me.
"What exactly do you want to know about me?" I asked.
"Something that you don't tell often."
"You know I was always a straight A student. Calculations were fun to solve but I've never planned a career in it. When I was in seventh grade I found my interest spiked up in painting. I remember vividly that the first thing which I painted was a night sky full of bright stars." I smiled at him.
