Hi! I'm Addie Conway.Me and my twin brother Charlie and I were born on the same day, pretty much at the same time here in Los Angeles, California (obviously). We've been inseparable ever since. I don't remember a lot from before high school, but for as long as I can remember, Charlie and I have absolutely loved to play hockey...
Anyway a lot of stuff has happened
between now and then. Let me get you up to speed. First Christmas I remember, We were six. I got a Furby. Charlie got a hockey stick. Broke my leg playing hockey with Charlie. Had my cast signed by Charlie, who bought me ice cream to make up for breaking my leg.
I dressed up as a coach for Halloween, Charlie went as a hockey player. We did everything together. We Learned how to ice skate, learned how to score a goal. Played on a terrible hockey team called District 5. Got a new coach who was kind of a father figure to me and Charlie. Shortly after, we became known as the Ducks.
A rich boy named Adam joined the team. (I thought he was kinda cute.) Everyone hated him because he was on our rival team, the Hawks. Adam was hated by everyone on our team except for me and Charlie. Shortly after, Adam and Charlie were inseparable.
Got protected by Adam, (who was now practically family) from a Hawk during the championship game. Beat the Hawks in the Championship. Discovered that we were going to play in the Junior Olympics representing team USA.
Then, we Won the Junior Olympics. Next, our whole team got awarded scholarships to Eden Hall, the most expensive, nicest, school in Minnesota. It also happened to be the school with the best hockey team.
Adam made varsity; we didn't. Charlie and Adam fought. They made up. Our whole team almost got our scholarships withdrawn. I was just happy that I survived my freshman year.
It was the last week of our summer before we were officially sophomores.
Me and Charlie were relaxing by the community pool when Adam walks in. He says, "Damn, Addie. You look different," as his eyes widen.
I have to admit, I am a late bloomer. I got my first period last month.
IM 16!
But that's beside the point. It was still an asshole comment. "Hello to you too, Adam." I say as I roll my eyes.
Charlie yells jokingly at Adam, " Hey man! Watch your mouth!" They laugh.
I didn't think the comment was very funny. "Y'all are assholes." I say.
Damn, I think to myself. When did Adam get so fine? Adam interrupts the silence by saying, "What are y'all doing? Let's swim." He takes off his shirt to reveal his toned abs. Charlie catches me staring and whispers to me, " Hey, rule number nine young lady."

Pause.

"What is rule number nine?" You might ask. Rule number nine is one of the rules that me and Charlie made up when we were 10.
It was right after we had met Adam. Charlie thinks that the reason that we have stayed so close is because of these rules.
    I don't believe him.
Personally, I think the rules are pretty dumb. Charlie came up with the 2 "most important" rules.
#9: Any friend of the other person is off limits.
And
#10: Never break rule #9.
   Anyways...

"Fine," I respond as I roll my eyes. I lay down on the lawn chair to tan. It's silent for about 10 seconds then Charlie says, " Hey Addie. We need to start thinking about what we are going to do for the fall fundraiser."
We were both on the hockey team and we needed to earn some money so we could buy new uniforms because the seniors took the uniforms with them after they graduated.
I sit up.
I think...
" Hmmmmm...What about the strength game, the one with the sledgehammer and the bell?"  He responds "Yeah, the chess team picked that one."
I say "Hmmm. What about... Ooh! What about a dunking booth?" He rolls his eyes again, "Swimming team picked it."
"Damn it!"
"I know, dude! Who saw that one coming?"
"I'll think about it." I lay back down. I have absolutely NO IDEA what we're gonna do. I over hear Charlie and Adams conversation in the hot tub.
"Okay, do you think Linda would like this one?" Charlie says as he shows Adam a picture on his phone. He continues, "Because I think it makes my eyes pop,
and I really want to kiss her on Friday."
Adam replies, "Charlie, come on. She's a varsity cheerleader. You talked to her once. Basically, the only way she'd ever make out with you is if you paid for it." Me and Charlie gasp at the same time.
  Adam looks very confused.
"Kissing booth!" Me and Charlie exclaim at the same time. We smile.
    I lay back down.
Then Charlie tells Adam, "What about this one? Linda will love it."
"You think so?" Adam asks.
"Yeah, why."
"Charlie, It's awful!"
"Dammit!"
I laugh to myself.
I lay back down and end up falling asleep.
