Jake was the best soccer player in his town. His friend, Zachary, was fond of his soccer skills. Jake's mom was so supportive of Jake, also very competitive at his games. Jake plays for Boca United. Boca United was the best team in the state, especially with Jake on the team.
Everyday after school, Jake and Zachary would go to the soccer field to practice for the championship at Disney's ESPN Wide World of Sports. They were so psyched for the tournament, they even had a blank calendar and the only date on the calendar was the date of the tournament.
As Jake and Zachary counted down the days until the tournament, they realized it only three weeks away.
Before Jake woke up the next morning, his mom kept pacing back and forth throughout the room saying,"Why, why , why?". It was because she was worried that something was wrong with Jake. He was focusing more on soccer than on academics.
Today was also his yearly checkup with the doctor. When he went in the room with the doctor, the doctor told him that this checkup he had to get his finger pricked. After he was finger pricked, he was telling his doctor about him and his team going to the championship at ESPN Wide World of Sports. But when the results came back, all of that was going to change.
The doctor came back into the room with a nervous look on her face. After seeing the look on the doctor's face, Jakes mom got worried already. Finally, the doctor says, "Jake has a disease called Gangrene. He may never be able to play soccer again." Jake was thinking that his life would never be the same without soccer. The doctor had one idea that could help him play soccer.
