"why are you here this late?"

After a long day of work [y/n] decided to walk around the city to stay away from home a while longer, [y/n] and their mother didn't have the best relationship it was really complicated. [y/n] hated staying home. They walked past a dark and sketchy looking alley way when they noticed a strange glow coming from it. Something about it had them intrigued.

'Curiosity killed the cat.' They thought to themselves hoping it would keep their mind off it but, [y/n] still couldn't shake the fact that they wanting to investigate where the glow was coming from, they were strangely drawn to it.

After a few moments of hesitation, [y/n] followed the mysterious green glow coming from the alleyway.

You felt uneasy and nervous walking in this harsh alleyway especially this late at night, it was quite uncomfortable there.

"wow, great what have I gotten myself into. It's too late to turn back now I'm way to invested in this." you whispered to yourself, you tucked your hands into your hoodie pockets as you were getting closer to the odd glow.

As you peek the corner, you get a glimpse of a sketchy looking man, you couldn't see much of him since it was very dark the only light source was a street lamp post and the weird glowing smoke he blew out of his mouth with a cigarette between his index and middle finger, the most noticeable parts of him were his baggy dark green pants, the odd brown hat, his deep teal hair, his black jacket with a white shirt underneath, and brown combat boots although you were unsure if his shoes were combat boots. He had a unique appearance and the smoke was very odd you've never seen anything like that before. You couldn't help but stare for a while admiring the smoke and his appearance, after a few seconds you snapped out of it and decide to go back into the city. You began to walk your way out into the city.

*cling*

'Well shit-' you thought to yourself, you didn't notice the empty beer bottle on the floor causing you to have accidentally kick it you turned to face the man quickly knowing you made a huge mistake. The man was startled by the sound, he looked in your direction as he dropped his cigarette onto the ground and stomping on it right after.

"Is anyone there?" The man asked, his voice was calm although it was somewhat raspy.

[y/n] froze. They couldn't move, it's almost as if they were glued to the ground. You shivered and tensed up as you heard footsteps heading your direction, you began to shake not knowing if you would live to see another day. You saw the figure of him getting closer and closer until he was only a few feet away from you, the both of you were looking directly at eachother, you were extremely embarrassed, you slightly turned your head not wanting to make much eye contact although you could barely see his eyes, you still felt his gaze on you which only made you more embarrassed.

"Are you alright, kid?" the mysterious man questioned,

"I-I'm fine." you stuttered.

"Heh, the smoke probably caught your eye, didn't it? I wouldn't blame you." He chuckled a bit.

You look at him starting to feel a bit more comfortable but still alert.

"Yea, it's pretty strange and peculiar although I shouldn't have bothered you like this I'm sorry," you apologized.

"There's no need to apologize, i'm Garcello by the way" he gave you a warm smile.

When he gave you that smile you started to feel like he wouldn't harm you almost like a sense of safety although you were a little on edge about talking to him but that slowly started to melt away.

"[y/n], nice meeting you Garcello" you smiled back.

"A pleasure meeting you too [y/n], anyway why are you here this late? You know it's pretty unsafe to be out here on your own."

That question was really unexpected, it took [y/n] aback.

"Oh uh-! well, I'm not tired so I decided to take a small walk." you partially lied.

"Alright, take care of yourself." he replied, you nodded to his comment.

"Well kid, if you want to continue talking let's just go to the fence it's a lot more brighter there." he recommended.

You followed him to the fence, there was an awkward silence between you two for a few moments. He pulled out a box of cigars getting two cigarettes from the box.

"Do you want one?" Garcello asked handing you a cigarette.

"No thanks, I really don't do cigarettes plus I never really tired it." you politely declined.

"Alright," he didn't insist or pressure you which you were thankful, he put one cigarettes back in the box and he put the other in his mouth pulling out a lighter from his hoodie pockets lighting his cigarette, then blowing out the odd colored smoke from his mouth you were still amazed by the smoke. You looked like a small child admiring a magic trick. You were watching in amusement and astonishment as the smoke that Garcello blew out was in different colors each time. He giggled a bit when he noticed your perplexed and amazed look.

Now that you were closer you could notice more of his features like his stubble and how fluffy his hair looked up close, but you still couldn't view his eyes the hat made a shadow over them which was unfortunate. After a few moments of talking with garcello and getting to know him better [y/n] started to feel drowsy it was getting really late so they wanted to rest and call it a day, plus they had work tomorrow and an early shift too.

"I think I'll just head home now, thank you for the small talk Garcello!" You exclaimed and smiled,

"Awh well it was no problem thank you for spending time with me," He gave you a gentle smile back,

"Bye take care and stay safe!" you told him as you began to leave,

"Same goes for you." he agreed.

Before you were about to leave something stopped you, you needed to know if Garcello would be here again just so you can spend time with him again after all you enjoyed the small talk you and him had. But it was was still pretty weird how you just couldn't leave until you got that information from him. You reluctantly speak to him.

"Hey, Garcello?" You turned around to face him,

"What's up?"

"Will you be here again tomorrow night?" You asked.

You could tell he was somewhat surprised but then chuckled after a few seconds "I mean, I believe so I'm always here at night." he answered.

"Alright then see you tomorrow!" You giggled as you began leaving.

"See you then, [y/n]" he waved as you left.
