Pride month

(Starting with a pride month story)

Millie and Sarah walk into school together, (at the beginning of June) and head straight to their lockers. They notice that most of the school is covered in rainbows and other pride flags. This made Sarah and Millie extremely happy.

Sarah: Wow, what is all this?

Abby: It's pride month. The month for the lgbtq+ community to celebrate. A new teacher came who is a full supporter and did all this for pride month. Might go on for half the month.

Millie: wow! I like it!

Sarah: now I and Millie can freely be together.

Millie: not fully, but-

Boy: there are no homos here at school, so what's the point?

Girl: they shouldn't even have rights.

Girl#2: well that's their choice. The stupid choice though. Who wants to be gay and hated?

Students just keep talking and talking and Millie has had enough of it. She notices that the school hallways are in a form of a school parade. Students close to their lockers and the middle of the hallway empty. Perfect.

Millie: Sarah, I got an idea.

Sarah: Hmm? Yes?

Millie: we should show everyone we're bisexual! Like, hold hands, walking down the hallway. Support.

Abby: you'll get made fun of for it.

Millie: the lgbtq+ teacher will handle it.

Sarah: well.

Sarah gets her stuff and holds them in her left hand and sticks out her right hand for Millie to hold.

Millie gladly takes it.

They walk down the hallway together, holding hands, attempting to make it obvious they're together. Abby walks behind them like a supporter.

Abby: I'll be your supporter in the back guys.

Millie is staring at Sarah who's smiling brightly. Millie blushes and smiles too.

Everyone is staring at them. Everyone's eyes look in their direction.

Girl#3: omg they're together?! Ew!

Boy#2: I thought no one here was gay. Guess I was wrong.

Boy#3: well it's not even right, so who cares?

Some people whisper to each other and giggle in a mean way. Some look away, disgusted or some just stare at them, disgusted. Everyone is just not supportive. Millie and Sarah weren't paying attention.

They walk to class like this. Since their teacher resigned recently, there was a new teacher in their class. The lgbtq+ teacher everyone was talking about. Her name is Ms. Avery. Millie and Sarah get excited. Sadly Abby had to go her separate way.

Abby: bye you two! Have fun in class!

Sarah: Bye!

Ms. Avery: welcome!

She notices they're holding hands.

Ms. Avery: ooh part of the LGBTQ huh?

Sarah and Millie nod.

Ms. Avery: *hands them each a bisexual flag* come in!

Millie and Sarah: thank you!

Ms. Avery nods and Sarah and Millie walk into class, excited for the day.
