Camp Camp

Chapter 1

"Listen up!" Everyone stops and runs over to Coach Ukai for the announcement. "As a reward for doing so well recently, Takeda, myself and the coaches and teachers of Shiratorizawa, Aoba Johsai, Nekoma and Fukurodani have all put together some money and bought a 10 room tent." There's lots of loud gasps and 'uwah's. "We are formally inviting all five captains and all five vice captains, as well as a plus one of everyone's choice to fill the numbers out. Although, I believe they're using a different system at Shiratorizawa."

Clean-up resumes and I start thinking about who to make my plus one. I grab my phone immediately when we get up to the club room and I open the Team Moms groupchat.

I heard that your schools all got invited to the camping trip

Somehow only Bokuto-san and I are the only ones available that week so we might have to forfeit the plus ones

I switch off my phone and put it into my trouser pocket, now aware that there's only two people left in the club room, including myself. Between texting the team moms and getting changed, I kinda zoned out.

"Kou," I look up as Daichi takes a step closer. "We're going camping, together," He says.

"Are we going to hide this from everyone there?" I ask him.

"I want to dibs a room with you," Daichi responds, "And if it's just the twenty of us, I don't see why anything would need hiding. Also, I'm pretty sure that all of the captains and most of the vice captains are gay as well," I can't help but laugh.

We lock up the club room and start walking down to lock up the gym as well, still chatting about the trip.

"So, who do you think your plus-one will be?" Daichi asks me.

"Well, I know that Asahi's on a family holiday that week and- oh! Akaashi was saying that nobody else from their team is free that week so he and Bokuto were asking if they could invite two of ours." I tell him.

"'Two of ours', you talk about them like they're our kids. But which two are they inviting? We might as well just invite their friends so they feel more comfortable on the trip."
