It's When We Meet Again

Chapter 1

"~This has been great but I need to take a break from messaging to spend time with my friends"
" ~I understand,but hope to keep in touch with you always."
"This girl seems so cool .. I wonder if I'll ever get to meet her. What do you think belt?"
"Dun dun dunnnn"
*chuckles* you always say that.

It's been about 6 moons since I got a slab from that girl across the pit. I wonder how she's doing truthfully. It's been so long since I've had someone to really talk to, I mean yea I have never spoken to her in person or even know her name but she seemed so cool and a wonderful companion. I can't help but wonder how is she now and if we'll ever met or talk again.

As I'm walking up the rocks and into the dry forest I feel belt tug at my waist.
"What is it belt?"
I hear a rat pigeon squawking towards my way. I look closer and see.... A slab!! So much joy bubbled up in my body as if honey melted inside me. I basically ran towards the bird and gave him a berry for the slab. I dropped my bag and warthog costume & sat down to read it.
"Hey! It's me, your pit pal! I couldn't stop thinking about you and wondering how you were. ( She thought about me!?!?) sooooo how are you?"
I grabbed another slab to respond as belt hopped into my lap to watch me Scribble as response back.
"Hey I been thinking about you as well! I'm okay still wondering across the valley in search of a place my parents wanted me to find. Did you ever patch things up with your friends?"
I gave the rat pigeon the slab and waited for a few minutes.
" I can't believe she thought of me all this time!! See Belt I told you she wasn't catfishing me!" I basically yelled holding him.
He chatters back while rolling his eyes and a slight smirk.
The bird came back with a new slab.
"Wow how long have you wandering? And yes things are back to normal. I decided I should pin pal every two days and the days I'm not I can spend time with my pals."
I frowned my brows together a tad upset I can't talk to her everyday but every two days will do I supposed. Maybe I'm just being greedy with her.
"That's good time management! And I been traveling for 9 years alone with my pet sloth Belt."

"That's so crazy! All alone for 9 years?! I don't see how you can do it. I would probably go insane haha"

" Trust me it has been pretty rough, you're the first person I have ever spoken too in so long. It's rare when I come across human contact"

"Oh my gosh really! You should stop by my valley for a few days to get used to humans again! And sense you're traveling you can also restock on water and food here!"

"I don't know I never found a way across the pit here... besides are you sure your valley will like me?"

"Of course they would! You're so nice and cool. Plus you'll be getting a personal tour by the one and only: The Leaders Daughter!! (That's me!)"

"What! You never told me you're the leaders daughter!"

"Yup that's right. So you'll be safe no matter what so what do you say! We can meet at the end of the pit going left it's pretty safe there from predators and I can walk you towards the valley."

Am I really doing this? My heart is seriously pounding at the thought of meeting her.
I looked down at my lap and see Belt looking at me purring and nodding his head. He may be saying yes just to get more food but I'm going to assume he's saying yes to meeting this as he calls her "mystery girl".

"Alright alright you pulled my ankle okay I'll meet you there by tomorrow morning before the moon officially goes away!"

"Sounds great! I can't wait to meet you....what's your name by the way?"

"Guy :)"

"Guy? What a unique name! I'm Eep. I can't wait to see you finally! Goodnight 𝒢𝓊𝓎"

"Can't wait, goodnight Eep."

Something about that last slab made my cheeks turn light red. "Okay Belt let's start heading to the end of the pit! We have a long & exciting day tomorrow.
