TW// swearing, slight mentions of knives

Brothers by blood, best friends by heart.

Wilbur and Tommy were so close you couldn't pull them apart. Wilbur had practically raised Tommy, they had a father, but he was always busy with their oldest brother. Although he ignored the two of them, their father always seemed to ignore Tommy the most, the boy's mother had passed away at Tommy's birth, Wilbur suspects that might be why, but there's more to it.

"Where are you going papa?" Tommy asked as his father and eldest brother stood in the front doorway, bags packed to brim with unknown items.

Their father simply scoffed and turned away, walking out of the door. The brother watched his father leave, then ran over to the young boy;

"I'm sorry Toms," he said softly. He wrapped something around Tommy's neck, kissed his forehead, then ran after his father.

Tommy looked down at the necklace his brother gave him. At the end of the gold chain was a dark-gray rock, the edges sharp enough to be blades. Tommy proudly wore this new gift. "Wilby!" Tommy called, "Wilby, Wilby! Look what Techno gave me!"

Wilbur walked out of his room, then up to his younger brother, "I swear if he gave you a knife-" Wilbur joked, kneeling down so he could see whatever it was.

"He gave me this cool necklace!" Tommy cheered, "It's got a cool stone on it!" Wilbur lightly held the rock and examined it, "That's bedrock Tommy, it's a very rare stone, practically unobtainable, you should feel honored to have such a thing." Tommy's grin grew to a large smile, "We're bedrock bros!"

"That you are." Wilbur said, ruffling Tommy's hair, "Where is Techno anyway?" Tommy's smile faded as he turned to the door, "Him and dad left, I don't think Techno wanted to go though..."

Wilbur's cheery expression quickly shifted to anger, he stood up and stomped his foot so hard into the floor you'd think a God had just landed down on Earth, "Every damned time!" Wilbur shouted, "Every time it's your birthday he leaves! Why can't he just stay here and take care of his damned kids properly!"

"...It's my birthday?" Tommy asked shakily. Even Tommy had forgotten. All of his birthdays went uncelebrated, it was a reminder of the mother they had lost, and the useless child they had gained from it.

"Oh Tommy," Wilbur sobbed, "Don't tell me you forgot- it's your eighth birthday Tommy." Wilbur fell to the floor and held Tommy in his arms. Tommy fell asleep in his brother's arms. Wilbur walked through hallways and brought Tommy to his room. It was the smallest room in the house, it had barely been decorated, Tommy had far outgrown his bed, but Philza refused to buy a new one, "He'll find some way to use it!" he had said after Wilbur protested against it. Tommy would still be sleeping in a crib if it weren't for Techno. It seemed that was the only way one could get through to the old blonde-haired man. Wilbur tucked Tommy into his torn covers, then walked out of the room, 'Just you watch Philza Minecraft,' he thought, 'Karma's a bitch and she's coming for you.'
