Forest Daycare (A HTF story)

First Day

It was a beautiful Wednesday day morning and Cuddles and his younger brother were eating breakfast. Cuddles' younger brother, Toasty was playing with his favorite toy, a stuffed animal carrot with googly eyes. Cuddles' mom was sitting with them too. "Cuddles you have a big day today, it's your first day of daycare!" She said. Cuddles dropped his spoon in the bowl of Trix cereal. Cuddles' younger brother giggled, he thought it was a riot when Cuddles got so shocked. Cuddles' mom went to do the dishes  "Go on when your done eating, brush your teeth, wash your face." Cuddles' mom said as she was washing the dishes. Cuddles finished eating and went to get ready. 

It was time to go. Cuddles' took the bus to school. "Bye mommy!" waved Cuddles. "Bye-Bye!" waved back Cuddles' mom. Toasty waved and giggled too. It was a disaster on the bus and kids were giggling and being loud. Cuddles sat down at a empty seat. He buckled up and put his backpack next to him. The backpack was blue in color. All of sudden the bus stopped. "OH NO! WE ARE GONNA DIE!!" Cuddles saw a red porcupine scared. She had spikes filled with dandruff. On the bus, a purple beaver with freckles and big buck teeth for making dams came on. The beaver sat next to Cuddles.

Cuddles didn't know him or anyone in this bus. He was scared so he covered his eyes with his ears. Finally they were at daycare. All the kids piled out of the bus. Cuddles tripped and fell on his face. Cuddles was sad and hurt. The purple beaver saw and went over the Cuddles. Cuddles was scared and thought the beaver was gonna hurt him. The beaver lend a hand and helped up Cuddles. "I'm Toothy!" he said.  "I'm Cuddles." he said back. They ran together to their daycare. The teacher announced that they were going to make and share something with the model clay. "Don't mix the colors and also I have to do your table groups.  

Table One - Cuddles, Toothy, Handy, Flaky

Table Two - Giggles, Petunia, Nutty, Mime, Sniffles

Table Three - Lammy, Flippy, Splendid, Russell

Table Four - Lifty, Shifty, Disco Bear, Truffles

The little critters ran to their tree stump tables. "Thank you very much,kids." Lumpy said while walking away to do who-knows-what. The kids started to make stuff with the model clay. Cuddles saw that the red porcupine made a star. "Look" it said showing Cuddles. "I made a yellow star!" Finally everyone finished. It was time to share what everyone made. "Table One shares first." Lumpy said while sitting on a mushroom chair.   "So, who wants to share first here?" "I do, I do!" said Toothy jumping up and down. "I made a tree house!" Toothy showed everyone his tree house. There were awes and wows. A purple deer saw and their ears perked up when Toothy said he saw a tree house next to his house. Toothy sat down next to Cuddles. "Can I go?" asked Cuddles. "Sure you can little bunny." Lumpy said smiling. (ew cringe ✋ stop) Cuddles showed everyone his orange carrot he made. "Carrots are yummy!" Cuddles said happily while spinning round and round. He was taking it all in. Legit. A red porcupine made a yellow star. A orange beaver made a hammer. A purple deer made a balloon dog. A blue anteater made a ant and pretended to eat it. A pink chipmunk made a red heart. A blue skunk made a daisy. A green squirrel made a blue and purple lollipop. A purple lamb made a crayon box. A green bear made a arrow. A blue flying-squirrel made a red mask. A teal sea otter made a pirate hook.  Two green raccoons made a gold coin. A orange bear made a disco ball. A blue wild boar made binoculars. 

Next, it was time to share names. "Everyone sit in a circle on the rug!" Lumpy said while handing little index cards with the kids names on it. "Alright we will start with this little sea otter." Lumpy exclaimed. "I'm Russell." the sea otter said. Russell sat down quickly. Lumpy then said "Thank you Russell, next!"  "I'm Giggles!" a pink chipmunk said wearing a big red bow on top of her head. There lots of other names. Like Mime, Lammy, Sniffles, Truffles and Flippy. Petunia and Disco Bear and yes, even Handy. "Alright kids time for lunch!" Lumpy cried. The kids ran to their tables and got out their lunches. "I have mushrooms, a apple juice box and some logs!" Toothy said showing Cuddles. "Ha! Haha! You eat logs, HAHAHA!" Cuddles busted out laughing. Toothy frowned. So did Handy, who was also beaver. "We're beavers. Beavers like to chew on wood." Handy said grumpily. "Oh. Sorry then." Cuddles said nervously. "By the way I have carrots, lettuce and carrot juice!" said Cuddles. "I have logs too, cattail and grape juice!" said Handy. "I have berries, seeds and orange juice" said Flaky. It was time to play. Like angry bulls the kids got out of their seats and started playing. Giggles, Lammy, and Petunia were playing with the dollhouse. Disco Bear was dancing and Flippy was the judge. There was lots of chaos. "Want to play with the Lincoln Logs, Cuddles?" asked Toothy. Cuddles said yes and joined Handy and Toothy. However something bad had happened. A fight between Handy and Toothy started. "STOP CHEWING ON THE LOGS, TOOTHY!" Handy shouted in Toothy's face. Toothy started to cry but then he shouted back. "WELL I'M A BEAVER YOU DUMMY!" The two started a fight cloud. 

"Lucy and Wendy want to play hide and seek!" said Petunia telling Giggles. "Okay Petunia, you hide while I count." As soon as Petunia got up to find a hiding place. The fight cloud swept Petunia, Lammy, Giggles off the floor and now the fight cloud was bigger. "HELP HELP US!" shouted Lammy screaming. "GUYS STOP FIGHTING!!" shouted Cuddles. Cuddles ran over and tried to pull apart the fight. Lumpy came in and saw and  stopped the fight. "BUY ME NEW LOGS YOU UGLY RASCAL!" shouted Handy. Toothy kicked Handy in the nuts. "TOOTHY! HANDY! GO TO THE TIME-OUT NOW!" Everyone had heard. Flaky started to cry. "Oh no, Flaky I was angry d-don't cry!" Flaky couldn't help herself. She sobbed covering her face with her bare hands.  

Giggles mouth was bleeding and three of her teeth fell out, her bow was ripped in half. Petunia was missing her flower and pine tree necklace thing, also she had a bruise on her eyes. Lammy's wool shirt was wrinkled, her bow was destroyed. Handy and Toothy were the worse looking, bleeding all over, bruises all over. It was time to go. The kids went to the bus and everyone was silent.
