Authors Note:
I'm going to be honest here. I have no idea where my motivation went. I don't know if you guys know this, but I am two chapters ahead in this story. I always have two chapters not published, so I can make sure I can change anything, if I need to change anything, and not disrupt your reading. I was struggling with a chapter, and I wanted to make sure it came out correctly instead of just rushing to give you guys something. Thank you for over 800 reads and hopefully, this longer chapter makes up for my absence. Enjoy!
:)
~~~Alyssa's POV~~~
I was rudely awakened to someone aggressively shaking me. I almost punched the person, but I immediately controlled my reaction. I sat up, rubbed my eyes, and yawned. I looked around to see Avery, Jack, Miko, Christene, and Raf all still sleeping. My sight adjusted to the brightness and turned to see Phoebe, the person who rudely awoke me. "I figured you wanted to train before school started to be in a better mood for school," she whispered. I nodded while I secretly thanked her for waking me up before everyone else. I got up and went up the stairs to my room to change. I decided to wear a white sports bra with a baggy, loose black tank top and black leggings with white tenny shoes. I also made sure to put my armpit-length black hair in a tight ponytail.
I quietly jogged down the stairs and tried to open the front door as quietly as possible. It still made noises, but no one woke up. I looked back into the house and saw Phoebe sitting on a bean bag while looking at something on her laptop. I closed the door, checked my surroundings for crocodiles, and quickly jogged to a building in our backyard covered by plants. It wasn't old or abandoned, the plants were specifically put there to keep the structure hidden from prying eyes. I opened the door and quickly shut it behind me. As soon as I stepped in, the lights turned on and I saw all the workout equipment organized. I went to the middle of the room where a huge mat was, and said, "Edna can you gave me a hologram at setting 8?" while I stretched.
"Of course Ms. Creed," she responded. "Shall I play your workout playlist?" she asked while a hologram appeared in front of me. "Yes please, and can you set a timer for 7:30?" I saw the timer on the screen set for 1 hour and 30 minutes. The hologram and I started circling each other while Legendary by Skillet started playing on the speakers. I smirked and prepared to fight.
After a few sparring with different leveled holograms, I was drenched in sweat and hot from moving around so frequently. I sighed as I "killed" the hologram and started stretching. I then walked up to the fridge in the corner of the room and pulled out a water bottle to drink from. I looked at the timer I set and saw I still had 20 minutes before I was supposed to go back to the main house. I decided to tackle the obstacle course. "Edna, turn on the obstacle course." The mat in the middle of the room went into the floor and was replaced with an obstacle course that started where the mat was to the ceiling. It was shaped like an S that went all over the floor walls and ceiling. I took a deep breath before I started. I had to crawl under nets, balance on tall poles on one foot, do monkey bars, dodge fire, scale walls, avoid weapons, and avoid the electricity. The first time I did this, I was in so much pain when I finished. It was definitely tough. When I finished, I let go of a pole on the ceiling and got to the ground safely. The timer went off, so I gathered my stuff and hurried to the house.
