Vulnerability.

A specific word that you thought best described your relationship. With love, it's scary to have someone be so close to you and figure out all your flaws and imperfections.

You never know when to put your guard down... but by being with someone you trust and love, your guard will come down, even if you don't realize it.

The problem is you'll never know if they'll leave for something or... for someone else.

Your relationship with Tobio Kageyama was the base of the word "vulnerability", it seemed like the visual example of what that sensitive word would be.

Your relationship with him was unique, unlike your previous relationship. The connection the both of you felt the moment you met one another during your second year in high school. You couldn't describe the feeling, only knowing your heart was beating out of your chest the minute your eyes met his.

You always figured you would get closer to the dark-haired boy, breaking through his defensive wall and helping him heal from his traumatic past. But you never expected to enter a loving relationship with the boy, the same one you developed a friendship with.

But everything worked out for the both of you. All the moments you've spent with him, his volleyball games, the messages, the late-night calls, all of it was worth every second of your day. Every moment always made you have a goofy smile on your face before you slept, just to wake up the next day to see him once more.

Talking to each other every day about your goals and your future, especially if your relationship would change depending on the paths you both take.

Kageyama was set on becoming Japan's number 1 setter and achieving more goals than he can comprehend. He wanted to be the best of the best and showcase his talent and skills. Of course, he always stated he couldn't be the best without you being by his side.

You were proud of your boyfriend.

You always loved hearing him talk nonsense about volleyball and what he does during games. You loved hearing him stumble over his words when he was talking too fast over a story since he was so excited to say the next part. You loved his warm hugs and soft forehead kisses that always made any doubts vanish from your thoughts.

You loved him, deeply and truly. You never felt this type of deep attachment to anyone and it scared you how fast you accepted him into your life. It just felt right as you always craved for someone to truly care for your well-being and love you to your fullest.

Kageyama never allowed his full excitement and celebrated moments to be exposed to anyone, always just keeping his inner thoughts to himself. He never knew how to react to joyful moments and always felt like he was awkward in those situations, hence keeping his actions to himself.

But not for you, he allowed you to see his true feelings and emotions, from the good and bad side of himself.

He fully trusted you, became so infatuated with your mind and heart. He couldn't get enough of your welcoming and warm aura that just made him become his true self.

No one to judge his moments of outburst or his emotional breakdowns, or when he gave snarky comments to others. He had you, and that was all needed to keep on moving forward to the next step of his future.

He was your first love, and you always assumed he would be the last.

But... sometimes you believe you're with the right person, but it may be at the wrong time.
