The Pierce's and the Carter's have been family friends for decades. When Amelia Carter's great grandfather moved to Colorado, Jackson Pierce was his real estate agent, who sold them their house. The Carter's were invited for dinner at the Pierce's house, and that's how it began.
Jackson Pierce and Amelia Carter were 16 years old and were bestfriends, just like their parents. They've gone to the same school since pre-school, but became bestfriends when they were 5. Amelia thought they were just bestfriends, and had no idea that Jackson actually wanted to be more.  They all decided to go on family trip in the Pierce's vacation cabin in the woods. It took longer than usual to get there due to a snow storm.

When they finally arrived the families carried in the bags and the suitcases. When Jackson and Amelia went upstairs but didn't have a shared room, they decided they were gonna share one anyway. When Amelia brought up the idea of sneaking in when their parents are all asleep so they can pull all-nighters was hard for Jackson to think about.
Something about the beauty of the silent woods and the snow gave him a romantic feeling, and the gorgeous fire place downstairs didn't help. He had been in love with Amelia for 3 years! He "knew" that Amelia didn't feel the same way, but the truth was bound to come out one way or another.
Amelia and Jackson started unpacking their clothes in their rooms and hanging them up in the closets while the parents downstairs were putting food in the fridge for that night's dinner.

Amelia finished putting away her things before Jackson, so she went in his room and snuck in on him putting away clothes. She ran in on him and jumped on his back, he spun and fell backwards onto his bed.
"Are you fucking crazy Amelia?" Jackson lashed out playfully.
"Maybe I am" Amelia chuckled.
Amelia saw some shirts in his closet that she really liked, she got up and walked over to them. She took one out and held it up to her chest, it reached her mid thigh.
"Can I try this on?" Amelia asked
"But I really like that one, I don't want it getting messed up!" Jackson answered
"I'm not 10 Jackson!" Amelia whisper-shouted
"Pick another one Amelia." Jackson said sternly
"Hmmm" Amelia hummed
She walked over to him sitting on his bed and put both of her hands on the outside sides of his legs, leaning in close to him. She lifted her left hand and lightly tugged on the neck of his shirt.
"I like this one." Amelia said
"Amelia.." Jackson sighed
"Please!" Amelia pleaded
"Fine." Jackson answered

Jackson took his shirt off infront of her, she stared as he had the most handsome body she had ever seen. Not that she thought appearances mattered, but she was enticed. She had never seen him with his shirt off in the 11 years they have been friends.
It felt like slow motion in real life, he was so perfect to her. She was repeating the words "Oh my god. Oh my god." in her head the entire time.   
"Here"
Jackson said, handing her the shirt
"Thank you" Amelia said
Amelia took off her shirt without even considering the fact that Jackson would see her bra. Jackson thought Amelia was the most person person on the planet, and this was proving the outside point more and more. He sneakily stared in awe until it was on. He just realized that the love of his teenage life was wearing his shirt, and it looked amazing on her. This is a thing that boy friends and girl friends do, and that's what he wanted more than anything.
Amelia and Jackson had an incredibly close relationship. So it was no surprise most people at their school already thought they were together.

  "Kids! Come down!" Shouted Jackson's dad
"Yes dad?" Jackson asked as him and Amelia rushed downstairs
"We're all heading out, your mom and I need more ingredients for tonight's dinner, and Amelia's parents left to get some more chopped wood for the fire place. Be good!" Jackson's dad said, walking out the door
"Be careful! The snow is getting really and out there!" Amelia said worrying like crazy
"Don't worry dear, we'll be fine!" Jackson's mom replied
His parents left and asked them to lock the door.

(2 hours later)

They knew the closest town near by was about an hour away, but they were starting to worry. It was getting dark and neither of their parent's were home. The snow was getting heavier by the second and the wind was roaring like crazy. Amelia was in the kitchen making hot chocolate and Jackson was in the living room, infront of the fireplace.
Jackson heard a really loud heavy noise hit the doors and windows. He practically jumped out of his body. Amelia came running from the kitchen frightened.
"Jackson? What the hell was that? Are you okay?" Amelia asked
"I'm fine, but that wasn't in here it was outside." Jackson responded
Amelia checked the peep hole on the door and Jackson checked the windows. Nothing but snow was cornering all the windows and the doors. They started freaking out, holding eachother, telling eachother it was gonna be okay. Even though they had no idea what was going on, and they were both terrified.
Their parents were gone, and they were alone. They both started getting anxiety and checked every window again to make sure they weren't seeing things. Jackson tried to open the door but every time it would let a snow inside.

"Great first day of winter vacation right?" Amelia asked sarcastically
"The best." Jeackson replied, breathing heavily because of the stress
"We're gonna be okay. I think." Amelia said, holding Jackson
"As long as I'm here with you Amelia, I'll be okay" Jackson smiled
Amelia wrapped her arms around him and didn't let go.
