play song to set the mood a bit:)

Walking through crowds of people, trying to get to Hogwarts express with mother and Blaise. We finally reach the wall, Blaise getting mother a quick hug, followed by a kiss on the cheek. He walks forward, then speed walking into the wall. I follow Blaise's steps, giving mother a kiss and a quick hug, going through the wall. I end up in front of the oh-so-familiar train, I step into the train, passing by compartments. I see Blaise heading in another direction and I decide, fuck it. I walk the opposite way from him, getting into an empty compartment.

I take a seat in a compartment alone and set my trunks by my feet and pull out a book to read.

The redheaded boy from last night walks by my compartment and opens the door, popping his head in.

"Can I sit here?" he questions, running a hand through his hair. I nod, he sits across from me. I bring my eyes back to my book.

"So about that name." He suggests. I look up, making eye contact with him.

"I remember asking you first, Weasley," I mention. He lets out a sigh.

"Okay fine, I'm Ron," he reveals.

"I'm Ivory Zabini." As those words leave my mouth, Ron's smile fades.

"Zabini, as in Blaise? As in a Slytherin?" Ron asks.

"Mhm, you have a problem with that?"

"No it's just that like--- I don't know..." he rants. I give him a confused look. "Yeah, kinda," he admits.

"Merlin, you're immature." I snicker, rolling my eyes feeling a bit disappointed.

The ride to Hogwarts isn't filled with much chatter from Ron and me. Maybe the occasional "What time is it?" but that's pretty much it.

We arrive at Hogwarts. I pull my suitcase up from beside my feet and make my way out of the train.

"Ivory!" I hear a voice call from behind me. I turn so I'm facing the direction of the sound. It's one of my closest friends, Xavier Dayal. "Oh. I've missed you." he embraces me in a tight hug, making me drop my trunks.

"You saw me last week," I assure them.

"Okay? You can't just be excited to see me?" Xavier jokes. I laugh and hug him back.

"Okay... I've missed you too," I say. Being released from his tight hug, Grabbing my trunks off the ground. Xavier and I head towards the direction of the carriages. As we walk we are greeted by many friends and acquaintances. The entire walk I can hear Draco Malfoy complaining to my brother about school and how he wishes he could drop out.

I sit in between Xavier and Theo in the great hall. School isn't something I hate, nor do I love it though but I have missed this, in some way Hogwarts is my safe place.

"Before we start the sorting ceremony, we have a new student," Dumbledor calls from the professors' table. Chatter fills the room. "Quiet students. Before we begin the sorting ceremony, she must be sorted." he continues. "May I welcome, Maya Dayal." as Dumbldor says those words, my heart drops. Memories flood my mind of Maya's lips against mine, running my hands through her hair, shared kisses by the fireplace, and one memory I wouldn't want to recall.

"Fuck Xavier, why didn't you say anything," I mutter.

"Surprise..!" he whispers. I roll my eyes, clearly not amused by their sarcasm.

I stayed with the Dayal family last Summer, Maya and I had a 'thing' if you can call it that. We liked each other. I'll just say, we enjoyed each other's company a lot. She fell for someone else at Beauxbatons. She decided to tell me through a letter, but that's beside the point.

Coming back to reality, I noticed that the sorting ceremony is over and the feast has begun. My main focus is really on which house Maya was sorted into. I look around the great hall, my eyes dragging from the Slytherin table to Ravenclaw, then to the Gryffindor table. I lock eyes with Ron, him admittedly shifting his eyesight to his plate. I roll my eyes, looking to the last possible table. The Hufflepuff table. I sweep my eyes over everyone, landing onto Maya which is already looking towards me, her head tilted, her fingertip going in a circling motion on the table, with a smirk planted onto her lips, now that I'm following the motion of her fingertips I know what she's doing. My eyes widen and I turn my head back to my plate and start to get food onto it.

"Are you coming to the party tonight?" Theo asks, interrupting my thoughts.

"Merlin, it's only the first day. But of course, is that even a question?." I respond, making him smile.

"Alright, it's in the Slytherin common room, one hour before dusk," Theo says. He turns back to his plate, finishing his food.

AN: this chap was a little short, we actually made one long chap but ended up splitting it:).-G
