CHAPTER 51

Everyone sat in the waiting room for hours waiting for some kind of update on Y/N's condition. There was a dark eerie silence amongst them all. Nanaba and Hange sobbed while Moblit and miche tried to comfort them by rubbing their backs. Levi had his hands over his face while trying to take deep breathes. The nurse finally walks in after several hours to give them an update on Y/N's condition. The nurse guides them to Y/N's hospital bed to gather there. Y/N was covered in bandages and passed out. They all gasp and tremble.

Nurse: Alright, I want everyone to take a seat. I have a bit to unpack here...

Everyone sits down and pays careful attention to the nurse.

Nurse: So for starters, we managed to clean, treat, and close the multiple opened wounds on her body with stitches so they will heal up just fine with little to no scarring. Next, she was clearly severely beaten so we have been applying a medicinal ointment to ease the swelling in her face. Luckily, she did not need any stiches or any facial reconstruction surgery for her face so that will heal up perfectly fine. Next, Y/N was very unresponsive when we attempted to speak and communicate with her. As a result, we ran several blood tests due to the severity of the catatonic state she was in *the nurse took a deep breath* It seems like multiple unknown substances and /or drugs were injected into her body a numerous amount of times. This caused a slight overdose in her body. We gave her some medication that will flush all of those toxins out her body. Uh.. Lastly... This is difficult for me to say... I'm sorry... *nurse takes another deep breath* Like I said, Y/N was clearly severely beaten. We took multiple X-rays and echograms of her body to search for any inner injuries and fractures. I'm not sure if you all know this and I apologize that you had to find out in this manner... but... We found out that Y/N was 3 weeks pregnant ....but due to the severity of the wounds to her body and injuries to her stomach, not only was the fetus gone, she may be unable to have children in the future. Although it won't be impossible, it will be difficult with a slim to none chance...

Everyone's heart dropped and they slowly turned to Levi with their eyes widened in shock.

Moblit: She.... was.... pregnant?

Levi was frozen with tears coming out of his eyes, "I... I didn't know she was.... I swear ... We didn't know... Oh my god... oh my god...". Miche grabbed Levi and pulled him in for comfort, "I'm sorry Levi...". Levi quietly sobbed and trembled and kept repeating, " I didn't know, I didn't know... I didn't know... I swear I didn't know....".

Nanaba was frozen and trembled as she spoke, "A-- Anything else nurse?".

Nurse: Uh.. Yes... So Y/N will be staying here for a few days and then she will have to be monitored for a month or so once she's ready to leave the infirmary.

Nanaba: Levi will monitor her when she's ready.

Nurse: Very well, let me just write this down.... Alright and *sighs* I don't know if this will make it any better but woman to woman... with the kind of job you guys do, it is extremely difficult in itself for a woman to even have a pregnancy carry to full term. This is due to the extreme physical intensity and mental stress of the job. Some women become pregnant and lose the baby without even knowing they were pregnant in the first place. What I'm trying to say is that... she's not alone in this and we have counseling for situations like these.

Hange froze..." What the fu-". Nanaba cut Hange off, "Thank you nurse!". The nurse nods and walks out the room.

Hange: Why the fuck would she say some stupid shit like that!?

Nanaba: Just let it go Hange...

Everybody was frozen and silently stared at Y/N with tears in their eyes...

Moblit: Guys... We didn't spend those 3 days sitting around doing nothing. We're doing something about this. I don't give a shit... this is personal.... Too personal.

Nanaba: Agreed.

Everyone else: Agreed.
