Today me and M broke up. It was only a week-long relationship, so thankfully, I haven't developed any feelings for him yet. Unlike his profile description, no, he could not provide me with the care and affection I craved from my first relationship as he dared to tell me that seeing me once a week was more than enough to fulfill my hunger for affection. I'm honestly glad he chose to broke up with me.
The break-up happened through a text message in my second to last class of the day. After I finished school for the day, I had told myself I was ready to go back only on tinder to start again.
I started swiping and came across a mediocre-looking boy who didn't seem to be my usual type, but he lived only 5 miles away, so I thought, why not. I swiped right and immediately matched with him, to my surprised. I didn't think much of it since I've had plenty of matches since I got the app on my 18th birthday and just figured it would get anywhere and that he might be another guy looking to hook up.
Minutes later, as I'm sitting at Starbucks working on an art piece, I got a message from the boy.
"Just a question, but do you take this app seriously?"
I was surprised as that wasn't how most of my matches struck up conversations.
