Incognito Part 4

Taylor and Joe only had eyes for each other. They were not aware of the furious look by the redhead sitting in a corner table with a group of friends.

"Hey, Jenna isn't that your ex Joe Alwyn? It's been a couple of years since your break up right. He has definitely moved on with that blonde beauty. They look so smitten with one another." Ed's remarks made Jenna madder than ever. 

"Don't bet on that Ed. I am going to get Joe back by hook or by crook. He is mine. If I can't have him, nobody else will."

Joe and Taylor was having fun enjoying the delicious fare, occasionally feeding each other from their plates. Taylor licked her spoon teasingly eyeing Joe with a naughty smile on her face. Joe's face turned beet red from excitement and desire. There were friendly banter exchanged eyes constantly on each other.

Towards the end of the dinner, Taylor went into the ladies' room and Jenna found her chance to approach Joe. The moment Joe saw Jenna warning bells started ringing in his ears. Their  break up was messy, police authorities were involved. Jenna threatened Joe with a gun while he was having drinks with his friends in a pub. She was cuffed and taken to the police department. Her family begged Joe to dropped the charges after a restraining order was granted by the court. Joe moved to LA from London for a new start in life.

"Hi Joe, fancy meeting you here. So that's the new girlfriend. Be careful, watch over her cuz you'll never know anything can happen. She's too pretty, look at the way men are checking her out with lust in their eyes. There could be crazy people waiting to take her away from you. I know people who would take her away from you. She could get hurt just like the way you hurt me for leaving me." Jenna's threats reverberated in Joe's mind.

"What are you doing here Jenna. Leave Taylor alone. She didn't do anything wrong to you. I'm warning you, if anything happens to her, you will  face my wrath. Get out of here."

Jenna walked away smirking. He knows the extent of Jenna's hatred towards him and now Taylor. He saw Taylor walking towards her with a broad smile on her face. He stood up and took her in his arms protectively, then lead her out with his arms on her shoulders. Taylor looked quizzically at Joe but walked swiftly out of the place.

"Joe what's wrong? Why did we have to leave like fugitives? Is everything okay?"

"I'll explain later. I hope you will understand me" Joe's quick response made Taylor more confused. He took a different route to Taylor's home afraid that Jenna might be following them. He could hardly wait for the gate to be opened by her security and stepped on the gas to go in.

Taylor lead Joe on to the couch looking worried and confused. "What's the matter Joe? Did I do anything wrong? Why did we leave so  quickly? You need to explain yourself Mister Alwyn."

" I have a secret I have been hiding. The main reason why I left London, my family, friends and our business was because of a vindictive ex. Jenna and I had been together for only a couple of months when our casual relationship turned toxic. She became extremely possessive, paranoid and insecure. She feels that every woman is out to get me. I employ women in my business and they were just associates of mine. She threatens anyone she feels have designs for me. She went to the extent of threatening to ruin me. I could not tolerate it anymore so I broke up with her. She stalked me and she threatened me with a gun in a pub with my friends. She was arrested by the police. Her parents begged me to drop the charges. I was granted a restraining order and decided to move to LA. I have to relinquish my business to my family, thankfully it's thriving."

"She saw us in the restaurant and approached me while you were in the ladies room. She made threats against you about getting hurt by her and people she could influence. I'm sorry to put you in this predicament Taylor. I like you a lot but I don't want you to get hurt either. I'm sorry but I have to stay away from you to keep you safe." Joe looked so despondent and with eyes glistening with tears, he stood up took Taylor into his arms and said "Good bye Taylor. I will cherish our short moments together. I want you to stay safe. I'm not worth it. Maybe someday we will meet again but till then goodbye."
