- Reader's Point Of View -

I didn't fully realize what I was getting into until now... Oh well too late to turn back right?

If you are confused about what I'm referring to, let me explain...

About two and a half months ago I had recently joined Ouran Academy. One of the most known schools in the world considering the majority of students who attend are children of the rich and famous. This is one of the main reasons I transferred there, I had recently moved to Japan due to my family's wealth.

As for the past two and a half months being here at Ouran, they had been rather peaceful as I had been trying to get adjusted to the school and the students here. From what I could say so far, this school is just full of students who only care about vanity, money, and connections. Although, I may come from a wealthy background I was raised beyond the stereotypical attitude that most rich kids seem to gravitate towards.

As a second-year transfer student, I had entered in the middle of the school year I had been rather lonely. Everyone appeared to be already accommodated with one another and I was the "New Girl." No one knew who I was and I spent most of my alone and hiding out in the school's kitchen. Yes, I know you may wonder what is a rich kid like you doing in the kitchen? Well, let's just say I am not someone that is waited on continuously. Although I come from a wealthy background, my family always valued hard work and being self-dependent. So, I grew up learning basic skills such as cleaning, cooking, and surprisingly baking! Once, I had discovered my love for baking I started to experiment and create unique and nuanced flavors in my desserts. I truly love baking with all of my heart and I intend to go to culinary school after graduating from Ouran Academy.

Until recently, I had a somewhat peaceful and dull routine, and I was content with being alone. Especially, when I can sneak into the school kitchen and bake to my heart's content. But, as luck would have it I ended up in the crosshairs of the Ouran Host Club and it may have been just as well because the people within the club seemed to end up making my life more entertaining. Now let's go back to where all the chaos began...

~ Two Days Ago ~

The last bell had rung, I stayed behind and waited for the classroom and the hallways to get empty so that I can make my way to the school kitchen. I had been wanting to try this new matcha tart recipe, that I had come up with recently. So, I rushed down the empty hallways and made my way to the school kitchen.

You might ask, why don't I join the school's baking club? Well, I have tried to get in, but the girls there were so rude and always gave me disgusted looks every time I passed by. In the end, I decided it best to leave the club and try to bake on my own. It worked out well for me as it turns out. I get to bake without any interference from anybody and although I might not have made friends with the students, I was able to make friends with the lunch ladies here at Ouran Academy.

Anyway, as I enter the kitchen I greet Madam Marlene, she is one of the many lunch ladies that work here at Ouran. She is always here after school, cleaning up and organizing some ingredients for lunch the next day.

"Good Afternoon Madam Marlene!" I greeted.

"(Y/N), you know I feel better when you call me Marlene." She stated.

"I know, but I can't help it! I grew up respecting my elders and calling you by your first name just feels wrong." I replied.

"Okay, okay fine. I'll let it go, anyway, what do you plan on baking today?"

"Ooh I created this new recipe for matcha tarts and I wanted to test it out today. If it ends up a success I'll save you one!" I stated happily.

"Mmm sounds good, okay well I am done for the day and I left the keys by the door. Make sure you get home safely alright! I have to go, goodbye!" She left in a rush, as I waved goodbye.

Madame Marlene is a great Chef and has become a close friend ever since I transferred here. When I first met her, she was kind enough to let me spend my time after school in her kitchen. She even has given me some tips on how to perfect a filet mignon. I wouldn't have survived for the last two and a half months here at Ouran if it weren't for her guidance and friendship.

Anyway, as she left I had started setting up all the ingredients, playing some of my favorite music, and bringing out the utensils and trays. Bringing out the matcha, flour, butter, eggs, and more, I fully concentrated on the task at hand. Fully in the zone, I was consumed by the music and the smell of baking this wonderfully delicious treat. I spent about two hours before I had finished. It was then I noticed a creaking sound of a door, I looked to my left to find a rather short boy with blonde hair looking my way. I was startled, to be honest, and I walked closer to the figure.

"Hello. Who are you?" I hesitantly asked.

"Oh hey! I'm Honey, who are you!" The strange boy said.

"I'm (Y/N), but what are you doing here?"

"I couldn't help, but smell something so delicious! I ended up here, what are you doing here?" He asked curiously.

"I-I am just here baking some matcha tarts, would you like to try some?" I replied nervously.

Socializing was never my strong suit, so I was more than a little nervous around Honey-senpai.

"Yes! I would love to try your matcha tarts." He cheerily replied.

I picked up a tart and napkin and handed it to him, and from the look on his face, it seemed that he was so eager to take a small bite. I waited for his reaction, this was a new recipe after all and I wasn't so sure if it tasted any good. He eagerly took a bite and chewed for a second before a big smile grew on his face. He soon devoured the whole treat and couldn't stop smiling.

"It is so delicious! You made this yourself?!" He happily asked.

"Yeah, I did! You think it's delicious?!!!"

"It is! One of the best sweets I have ever tasted (Y/N)-chan."

"Oh, I am so glad! This is a new recipe and I was a bit worried it wouldn't taste good." I replied.

"No, it's great (Y/N)-chan! Do you always bake in here?" Honey-senpai asked.

"Uh yeah, I am always in here after school baking. Why?"

"Hmm, do you think you could meet me tomorrow after school in music room 3?" He asked.

"Sure, but for what exactly do you want to meet me tomorrow?" I asked curiously.

"I have some people I want you to meet! Okay? Bye (Y/N)-chan I'll see you tomorrow!"

I watched Honey skip away as I waved goodbye. I wonder why he wants to meet tomorrow? Who are the people he wants to introduce me to? Oh well, I guess I will just have to find out tomorrow. I'm just glad someone other than Madam Marlene enjoyed my baking, it was an amazing feeling to witness another person smile as they ate my baked goods.

Anyway, I decided to clean up my mess and put away the matcha tarts in a plastic container, so that I could take some home. I even left a tart stored in the fridge for Madam Marlene, with a little note. I guess today was rather interesting as it seems I had made a new acquaintance. I happily made my way and pondered over what will happen the next day.
